Does anyone realize that if Best Buy were to go away...there would be no more Amazon? Where would people go to showroom before making their purchase? It's in Amazon's best interest to acquire Best Buy! Amazon in a few years will be a dying business. Who in their right mind would spend a few grand to make an online purchase anyway?? People want their product and they want it right away! They don't want to WAIT for their product with lingering uncertainty as to if it will be damaged, or counterfeit! They want it NOW! They want a place they can go if they need to return it quickly without any headaches or have it serviced or just questions they have. It's all about customer service folks! People do NOT like everything automated! They want the experience and peace of mind and instant gratification when making a purchase. That is worth a lot more than saving a few dollars just on price! Amazon cannot sustain undercutting all its competitors on price for long. As you can see they are all matching prices with Amazon. Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart. Ultimately that will have to change because no one will be able to make a profit! It's almost ridiculously funny when you come to think about it! Amazon is gonna go belly up if its continues along its path and is gonna wish it acquired Best Buy if it doesn't already have plans to do so!
You are forgetting that AMZN have other businesses other than physical retail, eBooks, streming music, video, cloud,... I don't see them going anywhere. They can dump physical retail and just keep everything else and still be maybe even more profitable.
They should stick to selling books! Being greedy by undercutting their prices just so every other retailer can follow and no one makes a profit is bad for business! This will be their demise! They need to pony up a lot of dough if they want Best Buy!
