Should we be watching NICS or Hillary's poll numbers?

I'm not sure what value we are getting from analyzing NICS these days. Aside from the fact that they are yesterday's news, and a lagging indicator, everyone and his brother is looking at them so the info is in the market the second it is released. .......I would suggest (albeit tongue in check) a better forecaster on future gun sales would be Hillary's poll numbers. The more likely it seems she will be Queen, the more urgency to buy guns.....think about it.....

    • NICS is a leading indicator as retail sales lead sales from OEMs to distributors

      • Both. However, NICS continues to be important and Hillary less with the blowout of Benghazi data against her. I say start buying again here, especially the weapons makers including small arms like SWHC.

As a quick aside, I see MANY military staff in their off hours at several local gun shops and they are buying up M&P autos like no tomorrow for their personal carry. Not sure if that is indicative of anything, but it's a personal trend observation I have been seeing for over a month now.

        Sentiment: Strong Buy

      • What you need to know is what future NICS data is ....that is my point....anindicator on the indicator everyone is already watching. Once information is widely disseminated into the market it no longer has a value in predicting future stock price direction. Everyone who is involved in Swhc is already watching NICS like a is essentially a rain gauge on your can tell you how fast your grass might grow in the coming week but not tell you if you'll need an umbrella the day after tomorrow....get my point?
