Selloff towards the very end of the day...probably triggered by some insider sale...this stock is having a tough time finding traction despite all the seeming good news/PR.

      • Insiders are the stock bleeders beginning with Gelfond , Wechsler , Marc Utay and Greg Foster...These guys killed the stock's progress more than Wold could ever have killed with his bashing..nobody trusts Wold's judgement anyway...

Remember Utay's sale of quarter million shares around $19 - 20...stock is down ~$5 from his sale price. Of course , some other stuff has happened since... such as less than expected BO performances from IM2 and SHREK4 etc but the theater and studio/movie deals , installation forecast , Inception more than made up for that yet the stock is languishing...

It also seems like Theater chains like Regal , Cinemark , Cineplex etc who have the capability are opting to increasingly deploy their own large formats .AMC is an exception to this phenomenon . AMC and IMAX have a long deep relationship .They share board members plus AMC in theater world is the equivalent of Warner in studio world to IMAX...big backers. Also , based on the numbers analysis i provided a while ago, the 20+ or so theaters in the last deal are almost free thanks to the decrease in percentage share taking effect retrospectively for all the AMC screens.

In this context, international expansion is highly important since there is no indication of international theater chains developing the capability to deploy their own large formats hence might choose to go with IMAX which is the best of the lot.

Of course , if there is an announcement in the near future about a deal with Regal or Cineplex for double digit screens then my theory is down the drain.

Whatever is going on with RACIMEC deal???
