Hi! from the link you provided, there is a CY part no. mentioned, I couldn't find it at CY homesite. To facitate the discusion, I just assume that is PSOC related product.
Back to Dec/05, Jefferey issued a report mentioned the relationship between Ipod and Psoc.
1) Psoc has gained design win at Ipod both nano and video. 2) They believed that 55% of Psoc shipped in Sept. Q (around $16 mils) was for Ipod. 3) They also believed that supply constraint forced delayed shipment into December Q and March Q. 4) The supply constraint issue is also likely to lend opportunity to SYNA to regain design win into next-generation Ipod. 5) However, Jefferey still believed that Psoc will be the main supplier to IPod touch-pad in 2006.
In Dec. 2005, CY sold total Psoc $23.8 millions, Q1 2006 is expected to be flat to slight down.
It is mysterious that IPOD wasn't mentioned throughout the entire Q4 (dec.) conference call.
There are part #'s awfully close to the one listed by Gettinwd. I'd speculate it is a custom PSOC or a custom designation for the Apple account.
At the very end of the Conference Call TJ states that they can't talk about certain products because of customer requirements for confidentiality. That would fit Apple's M/O for secrecy. I believe were looking good for the next generation of Apple's IPOD/VPOD. Very exciting if true.
Thanks! I am not frustrated with any particular thing here. I haven't found any new topics worth to mention until this subject.
Jeffrey's November report was quite conservative to only estimate $115 millions for PSOC 2006 sales, but they seem to have great confidence that any other suppliers to IPOD may be just temporary, PSOC is the final choice. They didn't exactly say that, but the tone sounds like.
