to trade or not to trade...

    that is the question.

I don't post often these days but some know me for yahoo posting on biotech (as friendotd) for over 15 years. My largest single stock holding right now is TSRX and its worth could exceed seven figures tomorrow. (like you care - hey its an anonymous mssg board and most of you probably figure I'm lying) After the Mad Money interview I expect a bunch of new characters around here and will welcome those who stay longer than a month. In the meantime, I expect a lot of garbage as traders try to pull TSRX up and down. In the local vernacular, the pond #$%$ will be getting pretty thick.

I will NOT, as Cramer suggests, be putting any stop loss orders in. That is the surest way to be cheated out of your profits in small cap biotech. This company is a medium term winner and holding for a year or two, depending if they decide to go it alone, will make you some coin. To those new here who are not experienced traders - resist. Take my advice with TSRX and simply hold thru the craziness.

For me, for fun, I think I might put some limit order sells, 5% at each 50 cent increment up from here x 3. One would expect a run-up tomorrow followed by a lot of shorting, ie: the Cramer effect. Who knows what will happen this summer, but I'm pretty sure it will be up from here 6-12 mos from now.

One more thing. unless you're a trader, don't worry about a secondary. The last offering caused the stock to go UP almost immediately. There are three scenarios going forward. They could be bought out soon. Yay. They could partner Europe and use that money to fund the launch. Or they could raise capital and go it completely alone. Unlike many, I have a longer term perspective and hope for the latter. It worked well for me with CBST from 7.50. Regardless, hold TSRX and win.

I know. Just a fun post after a few drinks after a .good day.

Most posts say little to nothing. If you care to research my aliases, you may see something worth while. I don't post with the animals. I do enjoy reading them.

I meant only to encourage long term investing now. I can attest, whether you believe me or not, that good research and a 'buy and hold' philosophy are a surer way to wealth than trading.

    • ...Kitty & I have been in the space for a while now. Today was the first time I`ve seen the SP pierce the upper trend line at about $9.70. on very strong vol. 3.5mil shares traded with a 10% SP increase indicates this run still has room to go. The larger market has finally caught on.

        Hi BS ;-)

Yeah. I read you guys. you have fun with yahoos There are some good posters here worth reading. I have a few posts on this mb from when it was below 5. We will see some craziness in the near future, I think.

Should Stein have declined the interview? No. I think it will help in the long run. After the traders come and go, the company will have more investors who know the story. That should make it more difficult for a larger company to take advantage and buy TSRX cheap. It may make it more likely TSRX stays independent and I don't think that is a bad thing. I don't have many large single stock holdings. They are my babies. I want to hold on to them.

    • FOTD,

Of cpurse I remember from the the old days. Are you still practicing emergency medicine?

He,he while my position is not worth quite a million in todays prices, I think it soon will be......

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Re "They could be bought out soon. Yay."

Just my opinion on biotech buyouts. I own both ALXN and ONXX. Many others too.

On ONXX, I thot the SP would be 140-150 next yr on just what they have now, and be up a lot every yr thereafter. Great possibilities.

ALXN has fewer drug expansion possibilities (maybe none, Soliris is all they have, but they will have it forever), but the SP today is below the previous 52 week hi, although it went above it at one point Friday. I see ALXN at 140-150 in 6-9 months without Roche.

I don't like buyouts, they seem to compensate me for 9-12 months of future gains, and with ONXX and ALXN, I feel the 4-10 yrs thereafter are pretty solid, so I'm giving that up.

So buyouts get me 1 yr of gains now (maybe...), and force me to find as attractive investments for those next 4-10 yrs. Pretty tuff, imo.

If you are really a long term investor, you would not like a buyout. It pays you today to give up many years of great returns.
