I looked at the fees and it appears they hit the company hard. The tests that will have the greatest impact will be Flow Cytometry reduced 70% and FISH reduced 80%. This is majority of tests for this type of lab. I can see why those that are in the know have exited the last couple days.
This is the worrisome extract from the new fee schedule. Yahoo doesn't seem to like cut and pastes or providing direct URLs, so hopefully this goes through:
"For most specialties the projected impacts are a
small percentage change in Medicare payments under the PFS. For a few specialties a
larger impact is projected. Diagnostic Testing Facilities, Independent Laboratory,
Pathology, Radiation Oncology, and Radiation Therapy Centers are projected to have a
change of 5 percent or more. "
I was able to google and find the fee schedule posted pretty easily. Might be more detail in there and impact to NEO.
