I say investigate which of Henry's associates and friends had advance knowledge of his letter writing, and did they short the biotech sector? Programmed selling coordinated with Congressional interference in private markets makes for one hell of a scandal. Or does it?
what is wrong with this picture, rays ?
last week you were so confident with these big talk about "shorts deserved to be burned ", and this week is blaming Dems again ?

deux, if these morons did not cover by now, they deserve to be burned. Good job with your responses.
They're a dimwitted group.
When Frank's trades go sour he blames Obama.
When Rays gets mauled he blames Democrats.
When Whipper gets a stick shoved up his port he creates "conspiracy" theories.
Then the three join hands in a circle jerk and take turns going "Obama, Democrat, conspiracy" oh boy
3 mental midgets/bigots
Are you or whippersnapper more moronic? Your "conspiracy" theories about stocks, biotechs, CLDX, etc., are laughable. Still, where is this (albeit idiotic) mindset when congress was involved in all other areas of the economy? Since, the majority of all congressional efforts could be said to affect some part of the economy, some industry, some activity, then the same attribution can be made that every Republican effort on behalf of the defense manufacturers or energy companies were correspondingly traded upon by those congressional participants, their families, and their allies. Similarly, every single committee and every single chair (and their families and friends) should be under suspicion for the same thing. Every K streeter, every (insider) pundit, every reporter, and every supporter could conceivably be painted by the same brush of suspicion. But, you don't bring anyone else up. Just the Democrat. Gain some semblance of balance and sensibility. If you are advocating a complete rewrite of our system and crackdown on the "freedoms" that currently exist, then say so, and be consistent. Don't show your political prejudice as if the problem is not universal and applicable to Republicans to the same if not greater extent than Democrats both currently and historically.
Waxman is a lame duck. It did bring attention that insurers and doctors are concerned about some drug pricing but role is a small piece of this debacle. Market in biotechs just got too frothy in a general market that needs a correction. Sorry for cliché: perfect storm
Smartgirl, You may be discounting Waxman's timing. He has been in office since 1975, he knows what he did would screw the biotech sector.
He released the letter on on a booming industry that was already correcting, during triple witching.
I think this is part of his retirement plan.
Company management is not responsible for this decline. This is a coordinated attack on the the sector, as though you did not know.
Now, who is doing the coordinating?
Celldex SP going down dramatically while % of institutional ownership is going up in Celldex. Hmmmmmm
rays, it's a waiting game now. Nothing we (retail) can do . The Alt is to SELL. I'll hold, not worried. Company is in good hands (and I'm not talking about ALLSTATE). We are close. I can live with what's going on. These are the times that try men’s souls
Ray, I'm as sick of this as you are. However we only know that Franklin increased its holdings; no other institution has reported its holdings yet. I find it very hard to believe that during this relentless selloff, the likes of which I have never seen before in my life, that institutions are accumulating. Ownership was already at least 86%. You'd think that if they had accumulated over 90% by now there would be so few shares left that buyers would be forcing up the price $3.00 per day rather than the share price dropping by $1 per day.
Waxman said nothing to garner this level of excitement....it's like blaming Reagan for all of the US debt. since 1981. The markets are making a killing on a the hopes of America's demise (basically, vaporization, as this has happened almost overnight, without any real trigger/impetus). Overkill - Sure seems like it to me, but I'm not the guy with the money.
