I had been hold some cash on the side waiting for a good buying opportunity and I took this as it. I used this time to add to my holdings in FE, EXC, PPL, and AEP. I have some more ammunition encase there is some more weakness. I suggestion is don't look a gift horse in the mouth - here is a time to buy some high yielding utilities at lower prices.
it's a good sign for a company that did not even reduced its dividend during the 2007-2009 recession. do we have any choice but to use electricity in our daily life? no. i think not. it is a regulated corporation and public utility commission has to make sure utility company survives for the society's good. so, i rather have 5.17% dividend that is qualified tax wise than less than .1% in money market funds whose measly interest is even 100% taxable. jmho.
