In reference to some of the insider buys earlier this month, were they not open market purchases, code " P "
I ask because some ppl on the board are stating that they were options etc. How does one tell if its an open market purchase or if its an option or apart of an incentive plan etc? Thanks
Ok if you look at form 4 (change in beneficial ownership) option and warrant transaction are listed in table 2 derivative securties beneficially owned. The word Derivative gives it away. If it is in table 2 and or has the word derivative it is an option or warrant being exercised. Then you look at box 5 in table 2, which is weather it is A Aquired or D Disposed. Aquired means they exercised the option and kept the shares, Dispoed means they sold the shares or options and kept the difference between their exercise price (box 2 table 2) and the market price they sold at. I hope this helps you.
It was a mixture of both. The largest buys were options being exercised. The good news with that is they were not selling the options or buying the stock from the option then dumping it. Though it is not as strong of a sign a buying it in the open market.
The code can help determine what is what. I am sorry that I cannot look up which is which right now, but I have no doubt someone will.
