The crisis in Japan spells nothing but gain for the United States Coal hauling Railroads. Who is going to accept a nuclear power plant in their vicinity after this major malfunction. Japan has few natural resources of their own and much of the rebuilding material for Japan will move by rail. RR stocks do not appear to be suffering much as of late.
Hey, you're entitled. You work rail and worked it. Many pressures will come about by China owning our debt. You can't deny KSU is one of the most ripe rails for a takeover. Its not a stand alone rail in the present day environment. SP was a bigger wad to swallow and its gone. And, in response to your " I think not' post the unions ARE becoming weaker every day. And, if not weaker, give me your reason as to stronger. Cause, if it's not weaker, it must be stronger. There is no middle road on this one. JKP
It's probably the next rail to be bought out for one. UNP and BNSF probably can't buy it as that would be too big a bite of the pie. The government wouldn't allow it. But, CN or a couple others would stand up to scutiny. JKP
