    My story about Jabil:

    Your story has a few holes in it. First it was NEVER Jabil Circuit"s". NEVER. Was Jabil Circuit 8 years ago but was changed to Jabil. The only people that ever called it Jabil Circuit"s" was outsiders.

    Beyond the name, the position you describe would be a Business Unit Manager (BUM). I have never known Jabil to 'lay off'' a profit producing BUM for 'no reason'. Especially in the Telecom segment ! They don't have many of those. You either didn't perform as you think or had some undisclosed background when you were hired. They surely don't need another Patrick Evans !

    Even if your story is true which is questionable, selling your largest asset (home) for a loss to chase a J.O.B. is silly. You know that now and anyone reading this should learn from this, true or not because it can and does happen.

    If a company wants any employee to relocated make them sign an EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT.
    Plain and simple. An inferred handshake that any corporation is going to take care of any employee is naive.

      Jabil Circuit does not have Use the term BUM in the AMS side of the business they are called BUL Business Unit Leader.

      Anyway, my point being you are the one with holes in your story.

    • Employees are rarely in a position to negotiate any sort of a relo contract and are just happy to keep their jobs. Selling the house, uprooting the family are all recent realities for a lot of people.
      Jabil's business model is based on outsourcing... meaning, someone someplace will undoubtedly lose a job. It is a cut throat business where there are no loyalties and the lowest bidder wins until someone undercuts them.
      It will be interesting to see what happens at Jabil in the near future... my understanding is that there are some pretty extensive cost cutting measures underway. I suspect that this story will be retold time or two again.
