Every transaction considering a trade gives no clue as to whether it is a short sale or a long sale. The only indication is whether the price was lower or higher than the last trade. Using Short sale statistics as is indicator is looking backward as the numbers that are posted are a month behind. The only thing for sure is whether the MM who handles the stock is long or short to his/her own advantage as they can hold their own omnibus account which is perfectly legal. They hold the book showing all orders short and long. To know this...is a trade secret. For the rest of us it just gambling. So take profits when you can and protect your money. I am short and thinking they will take this lower.
