Medtronic's pace maker has the cracked wire problem that shocked the patients' heart that caused a lot of problem. Between the cracked wire and exposed wire, St. Jude offers to stay monitoring all the patients and provide free wire replacement and free surgery. I'd say St. Jude is the still the best among its herd. Not to mention they are the only company has the abrasion technology and the best valves.
The cost of wire only around 600 to 700 dollars while the surgery is about a couple of thousand dollars. It is minimal for St. Jude. Most patients choose to stay monitored and the replacement instead of having wire to taken out.
