I dont consider buy and hold dead,at least when it comes to great companies that raise their div.every year. When one of these great companies sell off,and nothing has fundamentally changed,i consider buying some more.I am a long term investor, not a trader and there are some co. worth holding for a lifetime.
He is certainly not the best stockpicker in the world by any means. I used to watch him more to get ideas about HOW I can think when I'm looking at investing. The biggest lesson I learned (and saved me alot of $$$) was "buying on the way down". Not "buy and hold", but "buy and homework" is something I first heard on his show.
This is the last post I'll have about just Jim Cramer, as I hate when people get off talking about the actual company on other boards. So I will only mention him when I am also mentioning CODI.
I actually tried calling Mad Money few years ago to ask him about CODI. I never got through. I'm suprised he hasnt mentioned them before. I always thought its the kinda company he likes, just was too small.
