TV story said 1/3 of world's salmon use Bristol Bay and potential irreversible disaster. Company officials contacted for the story said Pebble mine was at least 10 years away. Looks like the clock is set back another 5 years to 2020 before any attempt to develop. Story made the point of saying that foreign companies want to do the mining. All Seattle seafood restaurants post signs to alert customers about the Pebble projects and danger to food supply.
Got interested in this on technicals, but am sensitive to the environmentals. There are several ways it could work, one being this is bought out by a major that can do it right for the environment much more quickly, at a price that recognizes the value.
