Have any of you had a chance to do any research through contacting private companies in the VDSL2\gateway market and the need for copper wiring and reasons for the delays in deployment and the 2nd half demand going forward? These companies can provide a lot of information on these issues that are discussed regularly on this board. If you do this type of research you will get a different perspective on this market. I am serious when I say the comments on future use of copper in the last mile or within MDUs and the use copper wiring over longer distances in the rest of the world (which generally has little cable competition because their are few cable companies) outside of North America. Most of the short interest here is probably industry-stock market wide non-discriminating program trading. If the larger program trading shorts had time to do due diligence they would get out of IKAN asap. Shorts, do the research, keep an open mind and you may make some money by going long. My research indicates that it not a question of if the technology using copper wire will be the predominate use outside of North America but when the deployments will begin. Most agree that 2nd half of this year will see the big ramp-up begin that will last for many years.
