Good comps and flat earnings made for a very bad day. Maybe it is all attributable to store opening expenses. A better explanation by management would help. Maybe we'll get that in the conference call. Oh wait, that's right, they don't have conference calls. Or much other shareholder communication, for that matter.
Thanks for the reply (activity on this board - quick the smelling salts!) They seem to be explaining the flat earnings by the opening of 5 stores in 6 months. That is a healthy clip and I would assume that is fairly costly. Margins were improved and same store comps were very strong which I always thought was the golden measurement for retail.
Moving into AZ is perfect. When Dicks finishes digesting Gaylens and Olberz decides its time to sell, SPCH will be the perfect west coast presence for them . . . at a premium of course.
