There are several different types of lasers in Scheins catalog...that also is a problem...they have a deal with Biolase but also sell competetive product lines.. 1. The smaller units are diode lasers. They are all about the same in performance....like a car they have bells and whistles...some use a long fiber like a fishing line....others like the ez lase or the zap use disposable tips.....there price ranges from about $3500 the picasso to around 15,ooo for ez lase and zap...The zap unit is kool it is the size of a pen you can place it in your pocket...but it come at the upper end in price....I have a biolase laser smile i like it for soft tissue procedures and for LLLT low level laser therapy..you can get the same performance out of the EZ Lase.
2. I think the only hard tissue laser that Schein sells is the Biolase products. There are some competitive lines out there and Lares(direct sales) has raided Biolase's luminary group. They also have FDA clearance on Endo tips like Biolase.
