I pity the sheep who prefer to buy 200 shares at $22 than 100 shares at $40. But I know they're out there! I'm strongly opposed to splits, as it proves that management is catering to the unintelligent, at the expense of the intelligent owners. Splits provide a VERY short term spike which only benefits those owners who wish to sell in the very near term, and hurts everyone else by attracting moron co-owners of the company. Prices will be more volatile going forward (and less tied to the intrinsic value of the business) as a result of so many stupid people owning the company.
