Anyone has idea how the tracking of VGSTX works? I know it tries to track the daily performances of VEURX, VPACX & VEIEX. However, there is a huge difference in price changes. Please advise. 5/8/08 5/7/08 5/6/08VEURX (55.5%) +0.38 -0.63 +0.17VPACX (23.9%) +0.09 -0.23 +0.06VEIEX (20.6%) +0.16 -0.81 +0.30Total: +0.63 -1.67 +0.53VGSTX +0.16 -0.36 +0.10Even there is a ratio, the ratio is not consistent. So, what is the formula? I sometimes wonder how do we track whether the fund prices are accurate or not?
I guess I have kind of figured out myself. When assessing the relationships of the funds, I look at the differences in price ratios instead of the actual figures.
The whole thing has a bit of voodoo to it. Several days ago, the FTSE, DAX and CAC were all up over 1%, and the Vanguard European index was DOWN. Go figure.
