Fidelity will only let me put in a sell order 50% higher than the current price of the security. If your broker is similar, adjust your GTC sell price with these increases so you can keep your shares off the market from shorties.
I don't know why Fidelity and others wont let you put in a limit at any price that is higher than the current price. Why 50max? They will let you put in buy limits that are 90% below current price. Why not sell limits 90 above? This is BS!
I have Fidelity as well and did mine Tuesday and Wednesday and today for 50%. Do it on a day to day basis to adjust it for the higher pricing each day (if it does go up from the previous day). The reason I say this is because I had a heavily shorted stock years ago and overnight it jumped from $11 to $20 because someone bought them out. If I had put GTC I would have lost a lot of profit.
