... did you see the Sands Macau results relative to Cotai?... did you see that ramp at Plaza?
Wynn is on the Peninsula... they just finished encore there, just like they just finished encore on the strip well after LVS finished Palazzo and trained their guns on the far east much sooner than Wynn. Wynn is behind the curve by quite a margin relative to Adelson.
I GUARANTEE you that when Steve Wynn listened to LVS's conference call that once he saw that Cotai VS peninsula relative performance and thought about all the market share he's been losing the last few months...
... that he turned to his buddies and said:
WE GOTTA GET WYNN COTAI STARTED A.S.A.P.!!!
... he'll open his off-strip unit there in 2014 if he can get the construction labor.
... Clearwire, Volt Info and American Capital (ACAS) are 3 of my newer positions over the past couple of months. Transocean was a nice buy after the blowout but it's half way back to it's pre-blowout price now.
... earlier in life when he made Templeton into the international powerhouse it was. He was a highly-disciplined contrarian, just like Buffett, Rothschild, et-al. All the most famous investors in history were contrarians... Peter Lynch was very contrarian in his approach.
Templeton just broke it down into life-cycle phases is all.
hopefully, new people (like me) to the LVS board can bring new ideas and new insight.
I have been involved in stock trading for 35 years. Having always followed LVS, this quarter showed a decent entry point. I know about the run-up... but I expect very good upside from a retracement to 41... then bounce on up.
best to all,
