    CETCO Expanding

Looks like things are going well for CETCO.

NEW IBERIA — Sixty jobs will be created by oilfield service company CETCO with the completion of a new $8 million facility on U.S. Route 90 near New Iberia.

Company representatives, along with developers, builders and other employees, were on hand Tuesday morning for a ground-breaking ceremony celebrating the expansion by CETCO Oilfield Services Coiled Tubing Division.

The expansion will include construction of an office and warehouses totaling 33,000 square feet, and a six-acre yard for equipment. The new site is expected to reduce equipment turn-around and downtime.

The company already has a main yard and a training facility in Broussard.

The 60 new jobs that will be created with this expansion are on top of 190 new jobs added in the coiled tubing division in the past two years.

"We've almost doubled in size in the last two years," Michael Johnson, CETCO Oilfield Services president, said.

Johnson said the onshore and offshore energy industry, including shale plays, had a role in the company's expansion.

The Duplantis Design Group designed the facility with Paul Beaullieu developing the project. Robert "Popie" Billeaud, president of J.B. Mouton Inc., the company building the facility, said construction should begin in about two weeks and be completed in about nine months. Forty people will be employed for construction.

CETCO is a wholly owned subsidiary of AMCOL International Corporation. CETCO is headquartered in Covington, with facilities in Broussard, Houma, Harvey and Lake Charles.

The company specializes in water treatment services, well testing services, pipeline services, coiled tubing services and nitrogen services.
