I was in Burlington Vermont last week and my wife
dragged me into the Pier 1 store downtown. I was in there
with her for a half an hour and there was always a
long line at the cash resisters. I was thinking of
shifting some of my stock to Pier 1 tomorrow. Any Pros or
    Cons. Thanks

    Facts on $175 bonus Plan

This evening I received a phone call from a
employee of Capital One about my credit card. He told me I
was $33 over my credit limit and when would I pay it.
I had not yet received my next statement and
questioned him about my over limit. Actually I was only $8
over but they added a $25 over limit charge making it
$33 over. Well I was pissed at my stupidity and more
pissed at a company that was bothering me before I even
received the bill. When I asked why, the employee said
they were pushing to raise cash (collections) as soon
as possible. I am cutting that card up and selling
the little bit of stock I have in the morning.
    Something stinks.

I like FCX because of the fundamentals and I must wait until the smoke clears from the fear of chaos in indonesia and a little rise in the price of copper. Hang in there.

Rumor on other sites is that Japan is starting to
buy gold, this will do well for japanese companies as
it will take the shine off the dollar. The CRB
commodity index is at a long term low with oil, grains and
others all being hit hard. A sizeable move up in oil or
gold will signal when to buy more Sony but not before.
    We must sit and wait.

In the march-april edition of FOREIGN AFFAIRS
MAGAZINE, published by the Council On Foreign Relations,
interesting article about the coming demand for oil and gas
etc. It stated that after the current slow down in
asia is digested that even with only 1% growth the
increase in oil needs by asia by the year 2010 will
require the total output of Saudi Arabia. That is just
for the increase in demand and not the present
demand. Energy stocks will be great for IRA and
retirement accounts but may be bumpy for a while. Buy now
    and put under mattress.

Fantastic co. which is partially owned by Intel has just enter an agreement with Wave Systems (WAVX) in conjunction with wave systems wavemeter which unlocks, deciphers, rates or meters and can invoice useage of incomeing programs on a rent or purchase or rent to purchase. Very exciting and could be bad news for msft someday.

For a real good lesson on the value of gold in the currency markets of the world, read in Ann Rands book on capitalism ( copyright 1966 ) Chapter 6 by a young ALAN GREENSPAN chapter title GOLD AND ECONOMIC FREEDOM. You will become a believer.

Does anyone have any updates on the joint venture between IBM and WAVE SYSTEMS (WAVX), on the wavemeter. It is supposed to
unlock and decipher incomeing info (programs) and rate or meter their useage. This will enable the pc user to rent or buy any
program etc. right over his pc. No more shopping at the mall and paying high prices. It can be used to rent to own and see how it
fits your needs. I have not heard much since the show a few weeks ago, but this chip should eventually be in every pc made.Info
    please?

I like FCX because it is one of very few gold companies that makes a profit right now, it has a very low P/E for a mining
co. I expect gold to go much higher, ( I dont know how high ) for the following reasons. 1). Countries like the U.S. and Japan
are printing paper money like crazy. 2). There is a global currency crises in the works, look at the devaluation of some of
their asain currencies. 3). The EMU ( a flightless bird by the way )European Monetary Union should back their currency with a
reasonable amount of gold reserve. 4).The IMF ( International Monetary Fund ) needs reserves, it has about $40 billion in gold now but
needs to raise much more contributions from its members.Larry Summers recently said that the IMF had GOLD "the ultimate reserve.
If the price of gold should skyrocket then the IMF and all the other central banks would become much more powerful and wealthy.
5). Supply and demand. 6). People like George Bush, Brian Mulrooney, Sen Howard Baker, Vernon Jordan and Karl Helmut Polh make
up the board and advisory board of Barrick. I believe Kissenger and others are on FCX. Thats just a few of the reasons. Good
    Luck

Does anyone have any info on the wavemeter? Is msft getting into it? I believe that Ibm and wave systems have something going but I would like info. It seems to be a natural for Msft. Thanks.

  • Im afraid that the asian markets are starting to trade in their equities for things like U.S. bonds and gold. One of my friends from japan said that he was getting into real assets. Does anyone have any thoughts? Is it time to put my money in the bank ?

Does anyone know about the wavemeter that might be going onto upcoming P.C.s . It is suppose to decipher and meter incoming programs allowing the user to use or rent programs etc. without buying it. Something like that ? ????

Im new to this site, I just wanted to look up P & G after my wife just brought home some ruffles and doritos made with Olean.Everyone in my house gave them a big A+. I personally thought that they were better than the regular ones. Now if no one gets sick tonite, its a winner. I hope that the warning is something that really does not happen except once in a blue moon.
I will consider buying the stock now because I believe this can be a huge product. I dont particularly like the price to earnings but I will read this site and study a little more. Thanks and good luck.

It was announced tonite that Warren Buffett has bought 130 million oz of silver since last july. This is good news for prescious metals. As far as gold mutual funds, most of them are down from 30 to 55 percent in the last year.
FCX is heavily guarded and is in good standing with Suharto. The country owns 10% of proceeds and gets a royalty. Even if something happens to that tyrant the country need their infusion of dollars and the expertise that FCX has. Good Luck

I just bought into FCX last week. I understand the problems and still think it is a good speculative play. I have been studying gold mining companies for quite a time and cant really find one that I feel Safe with. So I picked FCX as one because of the fundamentals which are stronger than any other sizeable company. I do believe that gold will regain its proper place in the near future and these companies will shine again. Good Luck.

    PISTAR:
Thanks for the interesting sites. I am invested in gold because I believe that the currencies of the world should someday
all be backed by gold. I dont mean a common currency, but each country having its own backing. This would eliminate the terrible
type of devaluation that is going on right now in asia. In order for this to occur the price of gold must be much higher then it
is now. After reading the info you led me to,I could also imagine that the high price could be used to raise the people of the
mining areas standard of living and use available technology to protect the enviorment. It gets much more complicated but you
    should get my idea.
