When things move on no news I often wonder if there are people that know inside information that are causing the movements.
I wonder if there still is a chance for a RDR remaster. The PS4 is the much bigger platform so a PS4 remaster would sell well. Plus RDR was never released on the PC so a PC version also definitely sell. Heck, even a Xbone remaster would still sell some copies to people that want an upgraded version.
I hope so but the release of RDR for BC on the xbone dims the prospects a bit.
Meh. You can pick up a digital version of RDR for the xbox360 (which will work on the Xbone) for $10.49 on Amazon. It did shoot up to the top 10 games though, so that is good. But they could have sold a remaster for $50. Or at least $40.
UGH. I am P1SSED about that. I wanted a RDR remaster that could sell for $50 or so. Instead they just left money on the table by making RDR BC. I just hope they squeezed Microsoft for a chunk of money on this. Stupid move.
Meh. It will sell a few copies but I don't think it will do all that well since the Bioshock games have all been available on the PC and they have all been on sale many times. But some younger gamers with a PS4 or Xbone will pick it up.
Mafia 3 will sell MUCH more.
Damn it, the remaster we need is RDR! When are we going to get it?!?!
Microsoft wants BC RDR. Players want BC RDR. Microsoft even had BC RDR up and running on the Xbox One. But TTWO has not allowed it to be released. Why? It has to be because a RDR remastered is in the pipeline. I hope it comes out this xmas season along with an announcement of a RDR sequel.
Yeah, who knows if there is any truth to the rumor but if that is true, they made the right decision. TTWO did have a HUGE booth set-up for Mafia 3 and that is clearly their big game for this fall (along with regulars WWE 2Kn & NBA 2Kn and the new Civilization). But I'm still eagerly hoping for some type of RDR sequel announcement in the coming months. And I still very much want a RDR remastered.
There is a rumor that Sony was going to debut the RDR sequel during their presentation. However, supposedly the RDR sequel trailer is quite violent and includes a scene wherein a guy walks into a saloon and shoots everyone in the saloon. And in view of the tragedy in Orlando, they cut the RDR sequel trailer from their presentation because it would be inappropriate.
I have no idea if the above is true. But if the trailer really has such a scene, I think they did the right thing by removing it from their presentation.
They have already slashed the price of Battleborn in order to try to help it get some traction. It is now on sale for $39.99 at Amazon & elsewhere. But you never get a second chance to make a first impression. I never really understood the title and it seems the gamers didn't get it either. Well either that or it was just killed by Doom & Overwatch. It is not likely to make a big comeback. Well, at least they can get back to working on Borderlands 3 now.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (PS4) - It's either the best or second best selling Uncharted game. I think the text is implying second best after Uncharted 3, but I can't tell 100%. Either way it's a relatively large number.
Doom (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
Overwatch (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
Battleborn (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3, PC)
Minecraft (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
NBA 2K16 (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC)
MLB 16: The Show (PS4, PS3)
Dark Souls III (PS4, Xbox One)
Wow, Battleborn got #4. Surprised by that. GTA V and NBA 2K16 continue to rake in money. Both selling better than CoD! I still wish TTWO could buy that Sony Studio that makes MLB The Show and make it into a multi-platform game. But I guess Sony won't sell.
And, yes . . . please, Please, PLEASE announce a RDR remaster for the fall. That would be huge amount of easy money and great prep for an RDR sequel. If there is no RDR remaster then they are making a huge mistake.
I'm guessing they will just announce a RDR sequel but not provide any detailed information. As you pointed out Rockstar rarely does much at E3. But they did announce The Warriors at an E3 show. But Mafia 3, Xcom2, NBA 2K17, WWE2K17, etc. will be the main releases that they will provide significant info on.
That's the best explanation I can think of.
Xcom2 coming to consoles. I hope they make it a little easier. I quit after getting my butt kicked.
Oh I largely agree. I'm just pointing out that no one is perfect and every media company produces a few disappointments and some stinkers
I think the future is in both consoles/PC AND cellphones/tablets. But console/PC market is much more predictable/stable since it has been around for decades. A quality brand product will work. Cellphone/tablet market is still early on . . . it can have huge successes . . . and huge drop offs. So I've been fine with TTWO's cautious approach. And from an investor perspective it is really hard to track because there is not much independent 3rd party data that can be used to know what is going on.
Yeah, ATVI is heavily leveraged and has a high market cap. A few stumbles and they can take a big fall.
There are always things can complain about but I think the performance lately in both the software market and the stock market show that they are making far more good decisions than bad ones. Every movie, game, music, etc. company has a mix of hits & flops. Just need to keep the hit/flop ratio high.
Those are amazing legs. And TTWO is using those legs to invest back into the company. Instead of pushing products out the door quickly, they are using those revenues from GTA V to allow Mafia 3 and the RDR sequel to become even more polished and thus generate more big sales and strong brands.
