Apple (AAPL) Taps Luxury Watch Executive to Lead Smartwatch Sales Initiative
July 7, 2014 7:53 AM EDT Send to a Friend

Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) could have hired a key executive to help with its smartwatch initiative.

According to reports over the weekend, Apple has brought on board Patrick Pruniaux of Tag Heuer, a unit of LVMH. Pruniaux was Vice President of Sales and Retail at Tag Heuer and is expected to be 'Sales Director' or something similar at Apple.

The hire might hint that Apple could be aiming to capture the higher-end smartwatch market, which is just beginning to take shape.

Launch of Apple's smartwatch, which is broadly referred to as the iWatch, are expected to begin in October 2014.

Shares of Apple are indicated higher in early trading Monday.

sapphire sounds expensive can you comment on how this will challange apples gross margins going forward? tia.

  • again lads apple trades her own volatility on the cboe and is poised to BREAKOUT over her 200 day moving average. a sure tell we will now see a + 7% move on earnings. and since she is priced to perfection likely a $84.60 print after hours on any street metric hiccup miss.

"Hiccups camera.gif occur when a spasm contracts the diaphragm, a large sheet of muscle that separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity. This spasm causes an intake of breath that is suddenly stopped by the closure of the vocal cords (glottis). This closure causes the characteristic "hiccup" sound.

    What causes hiccups?

A very full stomach can cause bouts of hiccups that go away on their own. A full stomach can be caused by:

Eating too much food too quickly.
    Drinking too much alcohol.
    Swallowing too much air.
A sudden change in stomach temperature, such as drinking a hot beverage and then a cold beverage.
    Emotional stress or excitement.
    How long do hiccups last?

Hiccups usually stop within a few minutes to a few hours.

Hiccups that last longer than 48 hours are called persistent hiccups. Hiccups that last longer than a month are called intractable hiccups. While very rare, intractable hiccups can cause exhaustion, lack of sleep, and weight loss. Both persistent and intractable hiccups may be a sign of a more serious health problem and must be checked by a doctor."

Apple (AAPL) To Report Q3 Earnings on July 22; Street Sees EPS Growth of 14%
July 1, 2014 5:26 PM EDT Send to a Friend

Mark your calendars... Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) announced on its website that it will report its third quarter 2014 earnings results on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 and hold a conference call at 5PM ET (2PM PT).

Analysts on average are looking for the iPhone giant to report earnings of $1.22 (Post 7-for-1 Split) on revenue of $37.8 billion, representing growth of 14% and 7%, respectively.

Estimates and price targets have been moving higher on Wall Street into the print. She see shipments of 35.85M in F3Q-14, which is down 18% Q/Q as they expect a pause before new iPhone 6 launch.

Over the last four quarters, Apple has beat the Street by an average of 6% on EPS and has seen an average 1-week after earnings move of 2.8%, according to data at Earnings Insider.

  • says the computer algorithm:

"Market Outlook Candlesticks warned us today to be on alert with a new bearish pattern. Market attention is now on the downside.

This pattern appears in an uptrend and warns that the trend will change. It consists of a white candlestick and a Doji with a gap up at the opening. If the Doji is in the form of an Umbrella the pattern is called “Bearish Dragonfly Doji”. In case of an Inverted Umbrella it is called “Bearish Gravestone Doji”. Here, all these patterns are subsumed under the name: “Bearish Doji Star”, regardless of the shape of the Doji.

    Recognition Criteria
    1. The market is characterized by a prevailing uptrend.
    2. On the first day a white candlestick is observed.
    3. Then, we see a Doji on the second day that gaps up.
    Pattern Requirements and Flexibility

The Bearish Doji Star should start with a normal or long white candlestick. It must continue with a Doji gapping up.

    Trader’s Behavior

The market is in an uptrend and a strong white candlestick further confirms it. The next day opens higher with a gap up, and the trading is in a small range. The day closes at the opening price, leading to the formation of a Doji. Bulls were in control during the uptrend but now a change is implied by the appearance of a Doji star, which shows that the bulls and the bears are in equilibrium. The upward energy is dissipating. Things are not favorable for the continuation of a bull market.

    Sell/Stop Loss Levels
The confirmation level is defined as the midpoint of the gap between the Doji and the previous candlestick. Prices should cross below this level for confirmation.

The stop loss level is defined as the higher of the last two highs. Following the bearish signal, if prices go up instead of going down, and close or make two consecutive daily highs above the stop loss level, while no bullish pattern is detected, then the stop loss is triggered."

    i am so sorry lads.
