Deep in the money long term options here are cheap in comparison to the stock price... I just paid less than a fraction of 1% to push deep in the money August options out to 2015. If anyone else here is playing the options game too then you may want to consider a similar push.

For those who already own shares... I highly recommend you stay away from options unless you are selling some or unless you are using deep in the money ones to push a purchase out to a later time. For example, you can purchase 2015 deep in the money for approximately half the current share price plus a nominal time premium. If you don't have enough money to purchase one hundred shares of stock today, but you have enough to purchase half that then you could consider buying one deep in the money contract with an expiration date as far out as possible... If you do decide to try options then please please read as much as possible before you make any purchases. A lot of the out of the money options or barely in the money options expire worthless. Sure there is potential for big rewards if the stock soars, but that is rarely the case and the buyer loses out. I use deep in the money options to delay purchases that I'm am definitely going to make but I don't do it to gamble on the future value of the stock. Paying a very small premium for deep in the money 2015 fits my normal risk profile, but it might not fit yours if you end up buying a lot more contracts than the number of shares you plan to own. Good luck and be careful

    What happened on the 15th

robear, here is a quote from another source that is also a Google translation: "The USO ensures that on Tuesday May 14, at 14.00, the company introduced Antibiotics SAU voluntary bankruptcy creditors. According to the Workers' Trade Union, the contest was presented in Madrid and was assigned to the Commercial Court No. 10. USE explains that "if we want this game is played in Leon, a creditor need to request the transfer of the contest, as soon possible ", as the court has not admitted Metabolix application for the transfer of the file, not considering them to creditors. So right now, the union is not aware of anyone asking for the removal fence"

IMHO, it appears that Wacker will need to step up to get things rolling.

Lots of jibber jabber here about something going on on that date; did anything happen?
    Are we now all millionaires?

pelo says he's going short but he said the same thing at $1.30 and look where that got him... A fast trip to the therapist and another mill in the hole. This company has about six months before we have to start worrying until then I wouldn't short this stock unless I were using pelo's money and then I'd be all in... Go pelo goooo!!! Rah Rah, ROFL

The HzO thing is interesting but right now it feels like vaporware. If Zagg is going to gain from growth in HzO then HzO is going to have to start selling product. Any idea why they don't have more customers?

I like the long concept but right now the trade is day to day so don't expect anyone to get excited here until HzO becomes a household name. I don't see that happening any time soon unless Apple or Samsung picks it up for their next gen phones.

Come on ilove, time for you to come back and shake things up! No new news but the stock has gone up in spite of that??? The company hasn't released a useful press release in... "like forever" and the CEO says stuff like "As has been documented in the press, Antibioticos is undergoing a financial restructuring in order to grow the site and ensure long-term strength." (See the last quarterly report transcript. ;-))

ROFL, never once was that documented in the American press and Eno knows it! He expects all of his shareholders to filter through the Spanish press, translate and determine what applies to Metabolix. Sorry but I found that pathetic and I am surprised someone did not call him on that.

Eno!!! You and your company need a blog so you can share what you know without expecting shareholders to learn Spanish!!!!

The company is being extra careful and in doing so they are keeping many shareholders in the dark. Most companies release press about "new sales" and some even get quotes from their customers. The last good quote I read here was several years ago when a Rubbermaid manager went on and on about how great meril is and how easy was to setup an injection molding process for it (going on to point out that it even requires less energy to transform).

Eno, do you have customers? How is that new PVC product line doing? What's up with manufacturing? Is Antibioticos going to work out or have you found another plan to add to your partner list? Are you just burning money waiting for the Spanish government to right things?

    Inquiring minds know nothing!

When you buy a new phone you don't really need to get a screen protector... Their bread and butter is gone gone gone. The company may have a golden egg hidden in HZO's Waterblock technology but the analysts either don't know about that egg or they aren't about to count the chickens until they hatch and waterblock technology has yet to go mainstream.

Too bad they didn't announce that they are working with Zagg...

  • at_last_at_last at_last_at_last May 2, 2013 4:11 PM Flag

Yes, they should start the discussions as it might be the only thing that turns this company around. Screen protectors are clearly on their way out (thanks to Corning Glass) and waterblock technology is just on the verge of becoming a reality. By this time next year it will be in everything from Kindles and iPads to most major cell phones. Zagg owns a very large piece of HzOInside and the market shouldn't underestimate that.

Hey Ready, is that you buying?

What sort of a knucklehead gives a thumb down to a post to another investor? ROFL, someone who is very insecure that’s who!!! Ready told us when he sold at $2.50 and you can find that back looking at the history of this board. He also told us he would buy it back when the price is right. If Ready gave one of today’s thumb down then he must have been very disappointed when it bounced above his target (I believe he was shooting for $1.30). If someone else gave the thumbs down then they were probably very disappointed when Ready sold half his position at $2.50. Regardless, it’s pretty funny that two people felt the need to give this post a thumb down. ROFL, get a life!!!

  • at_last_at_last by at_last_at_last May 2, 2013 2:13 PM Flag

I know you sold half at $2.50 and planned to buy back when she pulled back. Someone's been buying the last few days; is that you?

  • at_last_at_last by at_last_at_last May 2, 2013 1:58 PM Flag

You may delay the majority of your purchase until mid June... There's a 2c premium on the June $14 calls right now. Any takers?

Ilo, you are so certain that years of hard work, research, patents, licenses, grants and more are going down the drain; big talk from a very small investor. Right now some of the silly retail investors that you've been dumping on are bidding $1.66 for 3400 shares. If you had anything to back up your claims you’d give them the shares. Go for it! I realize that the best you can do is talk crapper, turds and sewers when it comes to your own convictions but the investors here are looking for shares and not more of your verbal diarrhea.

Why does Yahoo have the book value listed as $14.55? Would this company really be worth over 40% more if it were liquidated today?

Intw0, if you read between the lines from the last few conference calls, it is pretty clear that anything with CJ was on the back burner. I’m guessing they’re hesitating because it would require and investment from Metabolix and right not they are focusing all their extra resources on getting a bioplastic manufacturing facility up and going. Management also explained that once they have the ability to manufacturer their bioplastics it should be fairly easy to add biochemicals to the same facility; this gives them even more incentive to bring a manufacturer online.

Metabolix has provided their earnings date and it is coming up next Tuesday!!! See the Yahoo press because the information is finally there !!!!!!!

ROFL, we have a few shorts who would like you to believe the company issued an earnings date and then pulled it. The truth is “they are all a bunch of liars”. Read the earnings announcement for yourself; it doesn't say that the date is delayed. It only announces the date and gives investors an opportunity to join in:

“Metabolix, Inc. (MBLX), an innovation-driven bioscience company delivering sustainable solutions to the plastics, chemicals and energy industries, announced today that it will be releasing its fourth quarter and fiscal year 2012 financial results after the market close on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. The full text of the earnings release will also be available on the Company’s website. Richard Eno, the Company’s president and chief executive officer, Joseph Hill, chief financial officer, and Oliver Peoples, co-founder and chief scientific officer, will host a conference call on the same day at 4:30 p.m. (ET) to discuss the results of the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended December 31, 2012. The Company will also provide an update on the business and answer questions from the investment community. A live webcast of the call with slides can be accessed through the “Investors” section of the Company’s website. To participate in the call, dial toll-free (877) 709-8155 or (201) 689-8881 (international).“

Some have pointed out that this is coming two weeks later than last year’s earnings report while others have pointed out that in times of great news Metabolix has released during this time period. Personally I find all the speculation a bit silly because it is only two weeks and in the busy schedule of a small company two weeks is just that, two weeks. It’s a pretty insignificant period of time.

Evci, shouldn’t those who are walking on pins and needles pay closer attention to their own path rather than worry about setting fire to a straw house dance floor? We are all waiting for life changing news; most are expecting something good from Spain, but those in-the-know see tall buildings made of glass. In spite of that someone in-the-ether is quietly accumulating shares and doing their best to do so without attracting too much attention (or running up the price). Unfortunately most everyone here is in the dark with only a lighter and a few sticks of dynamite to play with. The delayed earnings report may be a very good thing because it gives our European friends more time to put their house in order, and perhaps it gives Metabolix more time to complete whatever transaction caused this year’s run. I believe the two are unrelated otherwise the price would have crashed weeks ago.

Someone needs to fill me in on Wacker; what’s up with that? Are they looking to invest in the current team or are they part of a new beginning?

Cereplast up nearlty 50 % today

    at_last_at_last at_last_at_last Feb 7, 2013 1:46 PM Flag

Meta could probably buy Cereplast using less than one quarter of theri cash reserves, re purpose Cereplast's manufacturing facility (to make Meta's products) and then double output once Antibioticos comes online... Unfortunately, anyone purchasing Cereplast is going to get a mountain of debt with it, but it might be worth it to have a functioning facility with many of the attributes that Meta needs.

The European opportunity is significant and the clock is ticking.
