"bldp very well could be performing engineering services for Hyundai." -- So what? Leasing out elelctrochemists to do contract R&D isn't going to drive Ballard to profitability any time soon.
"they were selling 100s of telecom units per Q through NSN and SoftBank a couple of years ago" - Really?! Hundreds??? How come they sold the division then?
"I say India needs a couple hundred thousand of these!! -- Well what we have is a one-off that will stop running in 2017 - Check your calendar.
Tesla destroyed? And this is a thread about God and Capitalism?..LOL
Since when are the ways of God and Capitalism mutually exclusive???
The minoan warm period was regional not global. - Cut and paste follows-
The RWP and MWP are distinctly North Atlantic phenomenon, and have significant impact over European temperatures. That they do not have any discernible impact on global temperatures is a spear in the side of any theory that modulation of North Atlantic Temperatures is a significant, let alone a major cause of variance in global temperatures.
"Evidence that the Greenland temperature swings were localized for some reason? None provided."
Evidence the sky is blue? None provided either, and none needed because it is assumed to be well known by anyone well informed on the topic as you claim to be.
"Evidence of the Minoan, Roman, and Medieval warm periods from either historical records and other proxies? Hell yes."
But exclusively restricted to NA (and immediately neigbouring land) proxies showing beyond doubt that they are regional, not global variations in temperature. As we are discussing impacts on global temperatures, your introduction of a known regional temperature proxy with poor correlation with other regional temperature proxies counts as a red herring at best - and is either proof that you are not well informed on the topic, or that you are intent on deception (if you are indeed well informed).
Because e buses are not fuel cell buses. New energy buses in China include diesel hybrid, CNG, and electric. They sell thousands of new energy buses every year. How much hydrogen fuel infrastructure is available for Hydrogen buses in China?
I'd buy one of these before I buy a Tesla. Hell one could buy 10 of these for the price of a well appointed Tesla....It started trading on the OTC back in Feb??? Who knew..
Elio Motors, the start-up vehicle manufacturer planning to launch a three-wheeled vehicle that will get up to 84 mpg (2.8 l/100km) with a targeted base price of $6,800, has COMPLETED its first E-Series testing vehicle, code-named the E1A.
Elio Motors is planning to build 23 E-Series testing and validation vehicles to test for safety, aerodynamics and durability. Once the testing phase is concluded, the company will begin preparations for building 100 pre-production vehicles at its Shreveport, La., manufacturing facility.
The E-Series completion was funded in large part by the crowd-funded stock sale the company completed earlier this year. Elio Motors raised nearly $17 million utilizing Regulation A+, which allows private companies to raise funds from accredited and non-accredited investors alike. Elio Motors is the first, and still the only, company to conduct a Regulation A+ stock offering and then have its shares publicly traded. Elio Motors stock BEGAN TRADING on the OTCQX, the top tier exchange of the OTC Markets Group, on 24 Feb. 2016.
In addition to its successful Regulation A+ fundraising activity, the company has received more than 55,000 reservations.
Not good IMO. Looks to be poised to take out the 1.20 handle at this rate. 52 week lows back in the headlights. If there is some news back at headquarters, now might be a good time to pull it out...
" a 25-year contract to supply and fuel 12 hydrogen fuel cell railcars " -- Jake stop it..Its bad enough without this kind of negative info..Thats oneFC every two years and it doesn't start until 2020...#$%$ me.
In a move intended to accelerate wider adoption of EV technology and development of the supporting infrastructure, electric bus manufacturer Proterra will open its overhead on-route fast-charging technology to the transit industry on a royalty-free basis.
With the recent issuance of foundational patents (Nºs 8324858, 8829853 and 9352658) covering this technology, Proterra will offer a complete technology package to the market. Proterra will grant anyone royalty-free access to its patents covering its single-blade overhead charging design. This includes the bus-mounted, single-blade charging design and the overhead charging coupler.
Consistent with this, Proterra is working with its suppliers to open up Proterra’s single-blade overhead charging design for direct sale to third parties. The single-blade technology references a unit in which all the charging electrodes are incorporated (attached, embedded, etc.) in a single member (or blade) that projects from the roof of the EV, and the charging station components that interface with the blade to charge the EV.
"As more and more electric buses operate on U.S. roads, it will be critical for the transit industry to have access to open technology platforms in order to effectively scale this technology and enhance the transit industry, With Proterra opening up its technology to other manufacturers, this will significantly benefit communities across the nation with this proven technology. Together they can move the industry forward"

Who might Ballard acquire next..?
Another PEM player of some sort ?
A SOFC entity?
Perhaps something unrelated to fuel cells.
The new CEO is a solar guy.
He has a record in solar as he brokered a deal with a solar roofing company and ECD (energy conversion Devices) years back. As i recall the solar roofing company survived, ECD did not.
So here we are:
What is Ballard going to buy next to improve the bottom line while continuing to diversify the company ?
