Racehorse, thanks for the explanation of the Murphy family's holdings. I was amazed when insiders were buying in the $60 range a couple of years ago and have held during this downdraft.
Racehorse, Where do you find how much stock is controlled by the Murphy family? The '14 annual report did not show them to be major holders. Likewise, yahoo does not show them as having a large amount of stock. Thanks.
The 12 month low that was reached recently has me under water so $60 would be welcome. Some officers bought the stock for $60+ on the open market a couple years ago and those are off about 40%. Of course no one predicted oil would fall so far and stay there so long.......
Murphy spun off its retail unit in 2013 and paid a special dividend in response to some institutions' suggestions. Now comes GS and UBS downgrades from Neutral to Sell. This is similar to Hess experience of 3 years ago. Sure smells like the stock is being pushed down for a buyout. In any event, it is dead money for at least a year...Sigh!
Been in since 2006. Sold half last year after extended run. Sold a little today after it gapped up. Could not find any financial info on Sensory Effects (privately held). Surprised at the huge gap for the acquirer. Unusual for them to buy with so much debt. However, excellent management. Biggest concern is someone makes a bid for all of BCPC!
Since they have been getting work from Russia, this Ukraine episode may have spooked retail investors, thus the high volume today? Still not good.
Yeah it is. Noticed that Brown Capital Mgmt funds own 23% of the outstanding stock. Just wondering if they are booking a lot of work with the Russians.
Thanks for the link. Wish the company would promote this video on a wider scale. LOTS of babyboomers need this procedure. Don't forget college/professional sports.
It seems that as the family's ownership has declined so has the value of the franchise. I had hoped to keep this one for years. Are you a long time holder?
Erin: Plenty of money in the bank to get GLW through this slack period. Give it a couple of quarters and we will be in fine shape.
About 3 years ago the Stryker family held a significant number of shares. Rhonda Stryker has been selling 9,000/shares/day for over 2 years! Where can I find if the family still has "control" of the company?
Has the company given any guidance when sales would reach a break even point? While the number of installs is climbing the SGA expenses are rapidly rising. Would like to buy more...
I have been wanting to buy but Mot F. rec has me scared.
Sherry, Haven't seen you post on FCX board in several months. You out of FCX?
Good article on copper inventories/China today at resourceinvester.com.
This will add to your knowledge of this commodity.
I found this stock from an interview with James Passin, who works for Firebird. Firebird has a substantial holding in INIS. You guys gave me a good history lesson on INIS. You can read the interview on resourceinvestor.com. It appears near the bottom of the second page of the interview.2/29/12
Have they indicated how long it would take to get the facility operational? Sounds like approval is in the bag.
Hedged gas provided insurance. As the hedges are used there will not be any support. Brown dense better come on big tim, because Cash flow from gas will not be adequate.
