After dropping late July into August, NRO's NAV has been recovering nicely. The share price discount to NAV has grown over the period and is now at 15.4%.
Hit pretty hard in June by the scares of interest rates rising and the Fed discussing bond purchases, but seems to be in a recovery from that... and that was barely a blip in progress from 2008 to now. Share price maintains a significant discount to NAV...
Steady growth in NAV continues. Apparently it has been a while since it was reported here.
As always, NAV is reported under XNROX and further stats available at cefconnect website.
This split has been communicated as the most complicated I have ever seen, sowing confusion everywhere. This volatility is due the confusion - as indicated by the number of questions on this board.
NAV continues to remain fairly steady and recovering from a dip a while back. Share price continues its discount to NAV fairly consistently over the years at around 10% or greater, currently closer to 15%.
At 4.75 per share, NRO seems to be continuing the usual discount to NAV.
Reminder: The NAV is also tracked on Yahoo, updated daily after close, with symbol XNROX
Apparently stats got updated by some source somewhere including cefconnect.com to show retroactively to June 2011 that the NRO payouts are no longer mostly Return Of Capital.
Previously 1.25 cents were documented as Return Of Capital out of each month's 2 cent payout and was not included as true dividends.
