As longtime ebay sellers, my wife and I were always very busy putting up listings that only lasted a week and a few months ago ebay gave us monthly listings! We have a much better sales percentage. More important to EBAY; their "take" of our sales increased to about 11% and their paypal "take" is about 3%. Now they gobble up about 14% of our sale and 3% of the postage. It is alright with us as sellers because our sales volume is way up and we profit more as well as EBAY. Now, I'm an oldtimer at the market as well and my hobby is trading. 2 weeks ago I sold a bunch of naked puts on EBAY with a $25 strike for Oct. for $1.36 because I think their upcoming earnings report at the end of the month will have a nice surprise because of their "monthly listings" tactic. Insiders will know beforehand and will drive up the price with their "leaks". (As well as the fact that their "cash cow" paypal is doing better and better all the time.) Peace, Ed
With 13K shares at stake, I'm delighted as well. 3 or 4 days ago there was a blog on this site that talked about a very large surge in call options for June at the $15 strike price. Anyway, the article seemed very real and I hoped it had validity. Last year a friend reminded me about "sell in May and go away"....I did not heed the advice ....Is it true this year as well??? Looking ahead to The Money Show in Vegas next week, enjoyed in the past. Peace, Ed
We are a user with 2500+ pos fedbacks and no neg. We went on as if nothing happened and our sales this fall (our busy time for china) were better than ever. Am very bullish on EBAY stock and very bearish on the mkt. After earnings, I will sell the closest out of the money calls and buy the next highest as I think the mkt will continue to slide taking ebay down with it. Peace, Ed .
Hi, Yes, I am long this announcement. I remember in the 1960's when Stop & Shop on The Boston Exchange would have good news....bad news....good news... bad news... good news ...and the market would react in that manner. I see DAKT as a repeat of Stop & Shop and last time was a bad news.....time before was a good news. Good Luck. Peace, Ed
My take is: the fact that earnings are out at month's end and the stock will slowly run up to the high 20's as growing results are expected by the "street". Peace, Ed
I agree...I added more to my account at 22.55 and expect that the close today above the volume spike (Monday) is a very positive indication of a near term rise.
I sold on Monday ($48.18) as I did not want to be long when the earnings come out today. China's oil was a ? . I expect some cost to the recent buyout will be talked about. I expect to buy back in after the dust settles. Peace, Ed
