I had a few thousand shares of CSC and when the separation happened it was supposed to be 1:1 so my shares should be an equal number right? They aren't. The new CSRA has about 100 less shares. Any ideas? Are you guys seeing an equal amount?

It might not "track" it but its certainly influenced by it... If gold is down it's a pretty good bet that DUST will be up.
What the heck is going on here?
6 day drop of $54 dollars!! DUST should be rocketing upward... Shouldn't it?
Woohoo! CSC Commercial and CSGov. Not exactly sure though when CSGov will Legally merge with SRA and get the new name and stock symbol. Hopefully both companies will take off!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and well written responses!
So the special dividend isn't just something "for the books" during the separation? it is actually an award on top of whatever I have currently invested in the stock? :-D
I'm currently inquiring if the ex-dividend and the record date are the same? Do you know if they are interchangeable terms?
But if the the company split is 70 / 30 meaning that the commercial business side is going to be 70% of the business. Will they take the current stock price ($66) and divide it 70% / 30%? $ 46.2 CSC /$ 19.8 CSC Gov = $66 That is my big question. Or will it not work out that way and the special dividend will get shoved in there to help make up the difference? I was really hoping the special dividend would be like a bonus on top of the total that I have invested right now but no one I can find will answer that question. Any ideas?
EDIT: "Yes you will have twice as many shares and own an equal amount of shares in the two companies but they won't be worth EQUALLY HALF..... " I am guessing here but how could they. CSC Commercial will make up somewhere around 70% of the company.
It's coming soon!
Question though... Will the special dividend be awarded on the top for all shares owned OR will it just be part of the separation to make splitting into two companies equal the same amount invested that you have just before the separation. Remember this isn't exactly a "split." Yes it's 1:1 but the two companies are different sizes so it's not like the CSC stock price will be split in half and you'll get twice as many shares. Yes you will have twice as many shares and own an equal amount of shares in the two companies but they won't be worth the same thing.....
Do any of you have any experience with a "special dividend" like this? I have a lot of shares and I was hoping for a big pay day...but now I'm starting to doubt it.
