LOL - The pumpers here are likely the paid trolls, not the shorts.
Only a immoral fool would be long HLF. No respect at all for those who invest in scams. There are better ways to make money than off the backs of those less privileged.
I think not, more like dead cat engulfed in flames.
Absolutely no reason to buy - it should go much lower given the lower guidance, and the fact it seems management has very little predictive accuracy into the future. Add to that the regulatory issues they have, and the SEC investigation which was confirmed late last week to be still pending.
Management showed themselves as crafty with numbers, but they've lost a lot of credibility with their earnings report. They 'adjusted' (aka. cook the books) to show a good EPS, but behind it, they didn't mark to market forex in Venezuela, and also the foregone management bonuses of 12 million (or 0.12 cents EPS), what else only god knows - but the lipstick on the pig effect can only last for so long.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
Except he advocated this when Apple was at the lows below $500 (before the split).
In this case they tried to scare of Ackman by forcing him to cover, but it just made him more resolute. It was a failed strategy that did nothing except add debt and hurt shareholders.
Who wants to buy this debt riddled company with slowing and soon to be negative growth? Plenty of other better companies out there to buy that is not being investigated by FTC, SEC, FBI, AG's. Regulators will probably block any sale until the investigation is over
Is that the money they stupidly and recklessly used to buy back shares at ALL TIME highs?
Morons shot themselves in the foot - now they are saddled with 1.2 billion in debt, almost no assets worth anything. When recruiting stops, this dies the next day.
Yep - the numbers speak for themselves. This company will struggle and fail if they give up their recruiting incentives, deceptive marketing, and nutrition clubs.
Ah, I had a different ID, my bad. I've been around is all I'll say.....
over 30% of the float short, yet could not even close in the green.
facts are facts. double digit sales decline - volumes declining across the board. FTC and SEC on their tail. Who in their right mind would buy this stock?
If you look at my post history - not just the past 3 months, you'll see I've been on Yahoo as an investor for a decade.
Shorts have no incentive to cover - the numbers are telling and growth is slowing soon to go negative. It was nicely presented, but nobody is fooled - hence it went red in AH.
You're right - the bulls have not seen anything yet until market open tomorrow - that's when they'll be needing diapers
Ha! They will never sue. They want to avoid court at all costs, they paid ppl before to go away, and now they'll be looking at another $100 million for the Bostick case. The regulators will haunt this company until it is shut down
Indeed. I can't see how these numbers stack up. The trend is every quarter they guide lower.
Tomorrow this stock is going to get hammered.
One trick pony by massaging EPS - while revenues down 11% yoy and guidance completely trashed.
Every quarter guidance will fall as they have to hold back their deceptive practices.
Now the short thesis has changed, FTC or not the business prospects have declined and continue to decline sharply.
Fortune Hi-Tech and Burn Lounge are two recent ones that are similar to Herbalife.
Herbalife I think is the most nefarious - they are clever and really obfuscate the boundaries of what is legitimate and not, but if you put it to the test, I believe it is certainly a fraud and I hope the FTC and SEC makes an example out of it. One thing for certain MLM will never the same, and the engine that was driving the growth is going to be amputated and you will not see the kind of pyramidal growth we were seeing in the past when these companies were running unchecked.
Even if they get a clean bill of health I think this company is still going to low teens, or perhaps even bankruptcy. The activist groups (besides Ackman) are going to dog this company till the end of days.
