You forgot the toxic malware inferior operating system called Android. The ignorant which make up the majority get hoodwinked by this, is that what you are?
Before you know it a trillion transactions can translate to 10 billion in revenue.
Original content that surpasses Netflix's few big winners can easily be duplicated by apple without having to deplete their cash reserves. The market will come to its senses and they likely will today marking back the shares which means nothing to long term investors. Apple has what no other company has and that's cold hard cash and a steady stream coming in every day. They can hire anyone on the planet to begin the process of producing award winning content exclusive to apple and continue to be the toll collector for all the others selling hundreds of millions of apple Tv's.
Apple uses their own content to sell the device and with those subs they leverage the platform to attract a nice skinny bundle for the rest. If you need them to buy someone for 50 billion and spike the shares overnight seek another investment. Homey apple don't play that game.
Apple can pivot in any direction whether it be content, cars, medical, apple pay expansion or anything because 700 million well healed subs are ready willing and able to buy in if offered the correct service or product.
That's because apple is really over $700 when you account for the 7 for 1 split. The market cap makes it very unlikely it will ever go up like the good old days.
Doesn't make sense to me.
During the lulls Steve Jobs was a master at keeping apple front and center in the news. Apple hired a media guru recently and just maybe he takes a page out of the Job's book.
Shows they are now on the prowl for a big acquisition. Stay tunes, shorts beware.
The problem is if we do see a big short squeeze and speculators begin to throw reality out the window in search of immediate gratification the market will be at the upper end of historical PE's which is unsustainable in a little growth economy. If that happens I will sell 20% of my apple holdings and wait for a 20 to 30% correction.
It's hard to sell value in a market where pie in the sky companies offer lofty projections not attainable but nevertheless a great vehicle for speculators to get greater fools to bid the shares up. Apple is a stock that will allow you to sleep at night. Their dividend is set in stone and as you so aptly said buybacks will lower the float thus lifting the earnings. They are spending record amounts on R&D and if ever we see a market collapse their rainy day fund is flush to step in and pick up bargains. Innovation is alive and well but with their market cap they would have to cure cancer to return to the halcyon days of 30% to 40% growth. Steady as she goes with some growth and just maybe a new industry to make real growth a prospect several years away in the car.
I doubt any estimates had anything more then what they have been doing in India selling iPhones via third parties. Cook took the first step in establishing a long term relationship with a country moving fast but not quite ready for prime time iPhones.
As soon as they announce a deal for Foxconn to open a factory in India the floodgates will open.
Apple was just granted around 50 new patents adding to the hundreds more they add all the time. Tim Cook said that apple averages an acquisition every month. The top hires in all fields run the gamut from health and fitness, encryption and all manner of automobile experts continues unabated. Apple is adding stores, expanding distribution centers, buying properties and finishing the home office of all time spaceship at a record pace. It is hardly a secret that apple has ramped up R&D spending at an exponential rate. It is a dereliction of analyst duty to not see that Apple is anything but on a downturn.
The 6 series iPhone was THE game changer increasing the sub footprint 80% adding subs by the tens of millions that clung to a large android phone but wanted so badly to join apple's ecosystem. Now that apple has achieved that switching group they set after the smaller form factor new apple subs downstream that also coveted apple but just could not afford it.
Apple now sits atop the economic food chain flush with hundreds of billions in cash and the innovative team that can move in any direction. Others can't beat them because apple can duplicate any technology and doesn't have to be better. They only have to be perceived as being close and the sub base will adopt apple's version.
Perfect example will be shown when Apple introduces their personal assistant that Amazon's Echo has introduced. The market goes nuts reviewing it and it sells 3 million to unanimous acclaim. Apple's personal assistant will sell that many as soon as the stores selling it open in an hour. Apple will integrate it into the system and the ease of use along with the faith and loyalty of the sub base will do the rest.
Next year OLED screens that have been around for several years will be the talk of the town not because it is revolutionary but because apple will produce them in the scale and into the SYSTEM like no-one else can. The fragmented mess that is android can't compete, microsoft is getting out of the phone business and the Chinese lack the innovative free enterprise apparatus to keep up. Until they are truly free they can only copy. Apple has a free lane to control and disrupt and that's what they are doing and will continue t do.
He very likely may have bought this quarter. He likely bought his first lot over 100 so buying in the 90's is in line with his thinking.
If Time Cook were ever seen with an android it would be the joke of every media outlet.
Apple has owned this company for over two years and it could do wondrous things three years ago. I have to believe something is coming.
The iPhone in 2017 will be the best selling phone in history. It will be sold into the largest base of subs apple has ever had and it will bear the tag of ten year iPhone which everyone will want to have. The problem is most investors can't wait a year for hype machine to start and they have been sufficiently scared off by the rumors that the 7 will lack innovation. Problem is people are not going to hold their current phones for 3 years. Apple will sell 70 million in Q1 fiscal 2017.
