["It is too bad I can not linked this to this board..."]
Usually if you post the first sentence or two of said article, then one can put it in a search engine, (ex Google),
and it will show up. I think this is it: "Let’s say computers come for most of our jobs. This may not seem likely at the moment; computer scientists and economists offer wildly varying ideas for how deeply automation will affect future employment."
["#2. Why do you assume that since I don't agree with you that I am any less patriotic than you? That's pretty closed minded.
I don't agree with you, but do I question your patriotism?"]
Perhaps this quote of yours was still in his head:
((wngr123 Apr 12, 2013 4:27 PM
"Please don't give me any patriotic nonsense either, it stops creative thought."))
["Glad you clarified just what Hamiltonian means, otherwise we might have thought you were a big fan of small appliances."]
Does Larry write for you?
[" A good way to increase the pie is to see a significant rise in wages across the country.]
We must see that the wealthy get more wealth and along with corporations pay less in taxes!
This will allow money to trickle down to the peons... er, general populace.
To be clear, especially to the R's, the above was sarcasm
["DOES ANYBODY CARE?"]
Do the people who shortsightedly thinks it's okay for US corps to send work that used to be
done in the US to other countries care?
When and if myopic people can see the big picture perhaps a solution will be possible.
Every ox is going to have to be gored.
["...everyone will look around and say "why didn't somebody do something?""]
Simple, raise taxes and cut spending. Both, together. But no one wants to gore their own ox.
I agree and I've had him on ignore for ages.
But what have you done with Adrain???
Or is it a normal yahooty screw up?
["Just search "Donald Trump's 5 Biggest Successes", it'll be the first result."]
Seems you overlooked this link from that article, just search: "donald-trumps-4-biggest-failures".
I'm sure it was unintentional.
Btw there are articles listing at least 13 failures, they'll show up in the same search.
I read that George Will has left the R party. In speaking of Trump, Will was quoted as saying,
"Make sure he loses... "
I didn't always agree with him but I respected him. The Grand Old Party is GONE !
Morons now run the "new", "tea party" show. How ever they think of themselves they are not old school
Republicans and I have no use for them.
["So you're sayin' there's a chance...."]
I believe there's always a chance. Heck, Trump looks like he'll be nominated and Brexit passed, so yeah.
But note a chance includes slim to none.
["...more along the lines of what I was going for:..."]
When last did a 3rd party candidate succeed? Though the times they are a-changin’, so...
["My hope is that, if Trump is elected, a Republican Congress will send some decent bills up for him to sign. As I've said before, I don't think he's as crazy as he sometimes (frequently?) sounds. Hopefully, he'll surround himself with good people."]
So you're going to cross your fingers and "hope" while wearing your rose colored glasses that he puts someone else ahead of himself and does what is right for others. Does he have a history of that? Though neither candidate would be my pick, I'd much prefer to plan for and deal with the known than the unknown.
I usually thought your posts were very sensible, but when you started on politics it's like arrgh!
["And you guys should all be doing the same."]
Absolutely, finally finished picking up what I hope will be bargains.
About out of cash now, I do have a margin feature but not the guts at the moment.
[" She wasn't the only member of Congress to vote with President Bush based upon bad information from the White House."]
Don't leave out the bad info from 1 Observatory Circle.
["And what if? Secretary Clinton, at the Democratic Convention, selects Senator Elizabeth Warren as her VP?']
I like Sen Warren. I'd like it if Hillary was her VP.
