    liz,
You obviously do your homework and have been on this board for a long time. My question is how is SYN going to raise sufficient funds to conduct additional trials, etc.? They have $15 M cash and are estimated to burn through $45 M next year. Is it going to have to be a secondary at the current depressed price?

For the quarter ending March 31, 2016, earnings just reported a few minutes ago are superb. Stock should shoot up tomorrow.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    Eric,

Did you check out DAC that I wrote you about on May 2?

This is an example of an absurd market extreme that provides smart buyers opportunities to make good money. I am loaded up on ENDP.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    Eric,

I have been absent for a few days, preoccupied with identifying some real bargains in the stock market. Just bought a small position in DAC. Take a look at it and tell me what I may be missing (or why it is selling at such a bargain price). The stock is selling at an enormous bargain price relative to its earnings (past and future).

    Looking forward to your analysis.

Yes, it is very slim pickings right now which tells me the market is topping out.

Yes, Monterey, but alas not Clint. He is a great guy, by the way. In 1999, he got some of his pals together and they bought back the Pebble Beach Company (a national treasure) from the Japanese. A true patriot, if you ask me.

Took a closer look at CRR and decided it is a loser.

    Eric,

Take a look at CRR and see what you think of it.

By the way, I live 500 miles north of SD, on the coast. Is there some other way we can communicate more directly (not via a MB)?

    Eric,

I took a reasonably close look at some of your suggestions and PRGO and RHI came close, but did not make my cut. That is not to say that they are not good short-term plays.

I kept reviewing various hammered-down issues for the last couple of days and could not help but think that HRTG, despite its greedy management, is still an outstanding value. So, I picked up some more about 20 minutes ago at $13. Technical considerations were part of my decision also.

    More later,

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    Eric,
Did you see that Bruce Lucas earned $27.3 M in 2015? The annual earnings were $92.5 M; so this guy got 30% of the earnings in compensation.

I think HRTG and UVE are ripe for an outsider to step in, pick up 10% of the outstanding shares and get rid of the bunch of greedy people running these two outfits. That, definitely would be fun to watch. Let these characters go out there in the real world and try to get jobs! Disgusting.

    Hello Eric,

Thank you for your previous reply of April 25. I did study some of the stocks you had mentioned closely, but ended up not buying any of them. I will explain later.

In the meantime, I had sold my ENDP holdings on Friday with nice profits, but unfortunately got back in yesterday at an average cost just under $32. I was thinking the pullback was strictly technical and temporary, but could be wrong.

Anyway, my preference is for stocks that are showing forward p/e of 5 or 6 even though they appear to be extremely unpopular temporarily. That is why I got into HRTG and UVE and still own them.

Your SAH/ LAD/ GPI/ PAG picks were fabulous and did very well today, but as in your case, I was trying to conserve cash in case of a large market pullback.

Your STX pick also was terrific. I was very tempted to get into that one on Friday, but did not like holding it prior to the April 29 earnings report.

Surprising that you should mention WDR, because I did considerable work with various stock screens over the weekend and WDR (and, you might be interested to know, your GPS) came up among the 4 stocks I finally pulled up. My list also included UG (which I did not consider because of the low volume; check the action today), your previously identified GPS, SEDG (an Israeli company that looks good, but I would want it cheaper), and from previous research OPY (great value, but extremely low trading volume (check out the action today). I will be taking a closer look at WDR later on and will let you know my decision on that one.

It is too bad we do not have a more direct way of communicating about our choices. Enough for now and good luck with your trading.
