1. What about the real estate?
2. What were the other bids?
3. When will they distribute the cash to shareholders and how will it be classified?
4. If they eventually sell BABA and Yahoo Japan, what happens to their small Snapchat investment?
5. Why would the board allow MM to stay on as CEO of a holding company?
I'm curious how VZ won with a $5B offer for the core and the real estate. Earlier rumors suggested T and Gilbert offered $5B for core, real estate and patents. Some people think the patents are worthless. If this was the case, it could mean T and Gilbert did not make a higher final bid than $5B. Or it's possible one or both just dropped out of the bidding voluntarily. I really want to know the details of all of the bids. Yahoo has a duty to release this info so we can determine whether or not to vote for the VZ deal. Something tells me this shady company won't release those details though.
People keep coming out of the woodwork and apparently have no idea that no company is interested in buying core plus the foreign assets. Who wants a $15B tax bill? Bidders only want the core. The Asian assets will be dealt with after the core is sold.
There will be no bid for the whole thing. At best we're hoping for anything over $6B for core. Then the stock will continue to trade in unison with BABA until Yahoo announces what they're doing with the Asian assets.
Reports are coming out that yesterday was not the real final bid date. Some dude is saying Yahoo could limit it to 2-3 companies for the final-final bid. C'mon, my liver looks like a prune right now. I hate this.
I can only report abuse. Plus, all the people I previously ignored are now visible. I shall continue drinking heavily until this company is sold. Tonight I'm alternating Coors Light with shots of Captain Morgan. One for one. I tell ya, it's not bad.
Last night I had a nightmare that I was at the final bid meeting with MM and she was panicking because there were no formal offers for the company. Before she announced this to the public, I was trying desperately to sell my shares but my phone died and I couldn't find a computer anywhere. I really need to get out of this stock. When it pops into your dreams, you're in too deep.
The analysts who cover Yahoo probably don't even cover BABA so what is the point of putting a price target on a stock which trades in a close relationship to another stock? If BABA breaks out to 100, then what? The analyst adjusts his price target for Yahoo retroactive to the actual share price increase. Stupid.
When was the last piece of good news? I think it was weeks ago when reports came out with multiple bids at $5B. I said I'd sell at 42, but I now I'm aiming for 40. I believe Peck is right about people selling the news. A winning bid at $6B or lower could send the stock lower.
Where are the leaks on the bid prices? Is there a 4th and final round which ends on the 18th or not? Have any new companies jumped into the mix? I can't just sit here drinking every night waiting. Give me something.
