Wendy's (NASDAQ:WEN) is headed into Sao Paulo, opening restaurants in Brazil for the first time.
The restaurateur is entering Brazil's market through a joint venture (Wendy's Brazil) with affiliates of Infinity Services (based in Sao Paulo) and franchisee subsidiary Starboard, which operates 182 stores across nine states.
Mid-July will mark a grand opening for two restaurants in Sao Paulo ("the main financial and gastronomic capital of the country") in order to get the brand established before exploring partnerships with local groups elsewhere.
