Now the guy is just going to use his blog to post every negative tidbit he can dig up on VMW.
I know you're reading this Tiernan so read it well - your prognosis of VMW is going to turn out to be just as correct as your Oct 6 article on Apple - completely wrong.
It's an interesting way to resolve the issue, but if you think about it for a moment, what was done can/should be classified as stock price manipulation. Isn't that exactly what took place and the intent? SEC notice received Nov 28, Katzen buys 5000 shares to knock it over $1. Merely coincidence? You decide.
It will be interesting to see what kind of earnings are announced and if the stock wants to go back below $1 before 10 trading days pass.
Generally, after a big/publicized purchase the stock will invariably move lower in the near term - especially with a turnaround situation. The daytraders and those looking for a quick buck will want to get out and move on. This generally leaves the stock lower than the price the insider purchased at and that is a better time to buy. Give it a week or two for volume to come back down and then look to buy.
1. Sorry you don 't get $3million per acre for undeveloped farm land in remote locations. It's not anything near $75B worth of land - it's all accounted for in book value.
2. Though the sale price is good and will help reduce debt, there will be taxes to pay on the sale so they won't see all of that money.
3. You have to begin questioning all of the massive stock purchases by Murdoch and what he knew when.
Yes, it is good news for shareholders, but I think questions will arise with #3. The purchases were just so heavy/continual/blatant.
and Simmons/Timet as usual
