A lot of their cash sits in China. They could buy BYD for cheap and have a huge market out of the box and not need to repatriate money.
OK, so think about those would be renting your car. They would have bought a car but now can experience your car. Why buy a Tesla when you can summon someone else's car. The ultimate Osborne effect. It makes "sense" if we give up our freedoms and start to rely on service vehicles... Why aren't we using car pooling now? We want the freedom of choice. He is selling "give up your freedom, rely on me.". Ultimate narcissism.
He musk have recently became an Amway distributor. Those words he used are how pyramid scheme guys try to lure in new sales guys in their "network".
You are a cartoon character trying to talk financial and business dealings.
It is a motor, not engine. And draw is relative to demand based on power needed to overcome load. Either acceleration or high speeds depletes an MS or MX 60 faster than 75 because the number is a capacity rating and not a power rating.
KWh is power for an amount of time. The electric motors.have hundreds of horsepower which is about 730 watts each.
I came up with "rent-a-range" upgrade scheme. For $29. day, the car could be software upgraded to 75kWh. For long trips to the Hamptons, to the trust fund manager in West Palm Beach or to Sundance or Burning Man to see friends from Stanford and Berkeley, you can extend your range for rare trips. Seems like rent-a-range would easily be as smart as battery swap.
Remember longs said that "nobody wanted swap'.
I contend that nobody will find a need to upgrade a battery.
It is to drum up sales. They give.supercharger access to 60 with the car. Who needs 75?
Less about? You do not know that MX 60 and MS 60 both contain 75 kWh of batteries?
Bad generalization. People do not drive 100 miles a day generally. 60 is not going to be upgraded later by buyers. They will find 60 to be fine in most daily driving needs. 335wh per mile will be 180 mile charges. I'd think most people are rational and think this way. I got over 50 miles today EV in my 2011 Volt using less than 10kWh. Then 42 plus on the highway using gas. I could live with an MS 50 or 40.
Why not install a real 60kWh battery? Aren't they easy to replace? Member battery swap? Instead they install larger packs that people will not pay to extend. Is it to resell as CPO once the lease is up? Seems desperate.
It's not Autopilot if it is color-blind. It is also not using radar features which are readily available now.
Depends on the season. You can get curve shapes from FERC. I don't want to hear what someone "says" the curve looks like. We can look it up ourselves. And it varies by region and grid marketplace. PJM is about the best in terms of bringing in generators at time of need during peaks. It also is rich in the natural gas from the shale basin to drive peaker plants and NG baseload. The only real problems happen when a Nuclear generator who is guaranteeing baseload has to go offline for an alarm condition that was unexpected. One Nuke generator can be almost equal to a whole state's solar PV at near-peak demand when a cloud-front comes in.
To a seasoned investor, these recent highs are scary. Of course, they will be doing the normal selling of covered calls and doing other hedging in small scale until things are fully cemented.
Short-bias hedge funds and those perma-bears will continue to get beat up. Where's Ackman these days?
Just how does that work if shares have traded since then? Who gets the refund? The IB who floated the shares? They'll take that for sure!!
