When Yahoo changed it's financial format 3-4 weeks ago the message boards disappeared and was replaced by 'conversations'. After a deluge of protests Yahoo returned to the old format but the posters never came back.. As bad as some of the sniping was, I miss the overall discussions...

I'm familiar with the divy bounce, but usually the drop is the next day and not in slow increments...but in the end you seem to have it right...I also forgot about the 3 cent divy last week...So maybe that kept the drops from dropping until 7/7/16..

The past few days support my question...we are way past ex-div-day, no bad news, market has climbed gently, yet NLY has dropped 3% over the past few days with some pretty good daily fluxuations. Today was about 25 cents...

Wow tough board....two thumbs down for asking an innocent question....I suspect there are some angry longs or shorts here who are not happy with the current price

    Sentiment: Buy

I'm a new holder of NLY, but have watched from the sidelines for sometime and regret not buying sooner. My question is.....IS NLY a 'short attack' target? I've noticed pretty good swings down on little or no news. Usually on days with low volume or it drops neat the end of a session.

    Thanks in advance...

I have always understood, that in the case of liquidation, after all debts are satisfied the preferred holders are next in line to be paid. If funds remain after those two conditions are met, the common gets to split up the rest.

I'm not going to enter into dialogue regarding RAS's actual value. We have been misled so many times in the past about hidden value, only to see properties sell for the same or less than the figures carried on the balance sheet.

Ask Davis Foulger, as he tracked these issues.

gtw...I truly believe the Davis that posted from '07 thru '10+ was not the one the last few years....I do agree that Ethison provides informative info and without an agenda other than to pass on for others to know.

alankane...you have made my point...Your post was full of analysis and information just by virtue of deriding Davis.

I think most readers of this site would rather read posts like yours than the dribble that appears on it frequently. I have don't really understand how venom filled posts accomplish anything other than saving the poster psychiatric fees....

billkay...between 2007 & 2010 or so, Davis presented excellent analysis of RAS, RSO, AFN, and others. He really only fell in love with RAS which ultimately led him to positions or predictions that could not be defended. His earning estimates etc were usually spot on, as was his knowledge of Reit rules or reporting.

The end result was that most of his threads required thinking, or researching for details rather than the foolish blather that usually ensued. The board has been lacking since he left. We still have some good posters but Davis stirred the pot. To blame him for someone losing money if fools talk. Anyone who makes decisions primarily based upon web-site message boards is most likely too lazy to dig out their own facts and deserve their fate.

Davis Foulger? I've been busy and not been able to follow the message board for a bit. While I have taken Davis to task on his RAS projections and what I call revisionist history or for having a convenient memory, I have learned a lot from him and do enjoy his opines.

Disclosure: I have never been totally sure that Davis Foulger actually exists, but I recall a few posters having claimed to have met him at CC's or annual meetings. With the constant flow diatribes lodgrd at him on a daily basis (many of which have the appearance of a 7th grade schoolyard fight) it would be understandable for him to walk away....I miss him.....I have no problem overlooking his "swallow the RAS cool-aid opines."
