Massacre of Deer on our rural roads is atrocious! They are beautiful animals - PLEASE be careful when you drive to/from GE for your high stress job. Stress causes reckless driving.

All I did was suggest Joe Biden become a GE executive about four hours ago, and the stock drops like a rock. What's the meaning of this?

Simple - her accomplishment is evading prison and, most importantly, not having her campaign for President totally incinerated by the populace. She is still running strong. She may even win!
With Joe Biden on board, GE should rock! 40$ at least.

Hillary will do all right. Her experience with dealings on the edge of decency and the law give her the credentials to interact with the shady governmental characters around the world. Bill will 'learn' her the rest.

Joe Biden should apply for a top executive position at GE. That would please me as a stockholder.

Sorry - I meant to say 'I believe GE is still a buy'. Every Post on this board should mention GE at least. Otherwise YAHOO will take the MB down and will no longer have all this fun.

I agree. Also, a candidate with the experience Mrs. Clinton obtained with dealings on the shady side of the law are precisely the credentials our new president will need to navigate the back alleys and muddy paths thru the circles of misbehaved foreign leaders that are past masters at this.

I don't believe Mr. Trump has exhibited this talent, except for perhaps simple lawsuits and minor unethical greediness all of which were prosecuted in very simple courts of law that were always fair and properly handled.

I believe is still a buy, and will eventually regain the glorious heights of 10 -15 years past.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • Mr. Trump should be talking like this --

My primary strength is profitable Real Estate deals. As president, I will close the following deals which will bring enormous amounts of money into the US treasury. We will not only balance the budget, but have huge surpluses. The US Dollar will be so strong we can buy anything!

    1. Forget the wall - we will buy Mexico. The drug cartels will pay for the purchase and then be eliminated.
    2. We will buy Canada. Road signs will be French only - Overtaxed French wealthy folks will come in hoards thus depleting wealth belonging to the European Union.
    3. We will sell some of our states. Those with small Electoral Vote numbers will be vulnerable. We will sell the north part of Illinois. Chicago has always been a problem - Crime, Mafia, etc.

Finally we will immediately stop packaging and selling grated cheese. This will make America GRATE again!

I read the article on creating an Independent Service Operator, and it seems like a threat to share holders. Mean time the stock is recovering pretty well. I think Grids revenues from the US accounts for about 40% of the total, so in the longer term the strong dollar should help their bottom line.

As long as the dividend stays close to 5%, I'm good with the stock. Please let us know if you hear any news internally.

Parliament should have made the decision to exit or not.
Also, congress should appoint the US president. Both these bodies are elected by the populist who are not well enough informed, or intelligent enough, to make decisions of this magnitude. That's what us common folks pay them for!

At GE the CEO is selected by the Board of Directors, not the employees or shareholders.

    Clinton and corruption

    by hipilot.rm Jun 23, 2016 3:17 PM

These revelations about Mrs. Clinton's exposure and engagement in such evil activities would not be appropriate for some professional positions. However for President of the US, this kind of experience may very well be a plus. The folks she must interact with are often past masters of corruption. We would not want our POTUS to be a "babe in the woods" when conducting business with them. And to avoid prosecution is even a greater plus.

Has Mr. Trump had any exposure to any improper business dealings? I doubt it. He would have to learn fast how to maneuver in the dark alleys to be a good president!

General Electric's business would be hurt immensly if our President doesn't have the knowledge to establish paths thru the most sinister parts of the world's leadership. Only experience brings that.

National Grid is up a little in London. The big drop here is because the value of the British Pound dropped like a rock over night due to their voting results on Brexit. It's probably a good buy right now in my opinion.

Who should I vote for? I want the one we people choose to be the best President. Human's do evil things at times - we're not perfect. Personally, I will listen carefully to all the commentary I can absorb and try to determine which set of evils will have least negative impact on the presidential duties. Stealing a candy bar when the person was a teenager is not something I would dwell on. Rubbing elbows with certain crooks could help one to perform the duties well. I think it's called 'the better of two evils'.

Any policy that a candidate offers which would keep GE's common stock price moving up would certainly be a plus for me.

Our country proudly honors free speech - except of course cuss words, racially explicit words, words insinuating opposition to certain concepts dear to ones religion or political views, etc. It's hard to display humor any more in our conversation.

Of course I'm a spoiled brat - I had the country club experience. It's my kind that have the high paid positions that make governments and big business run smoothly. Only difference is GE and the US military paid most of mine because my parents were NOT country clubbers, but very poor big depression escapees that worked their behinds off to put food on the table and get me a chance at working.

You are absolutely right though, some have the breaks. I got a few too. Thanks dad & mom.

I would think poor people are sending most jobs overseas. They can't get a proper education here, and thus don't have skills necessary to do our jobs. Think- $200,000 for a college education - got to stop!

Only three things energize a country's economy and keep GE's business strong. --

    1. War
    2. Threat of war (AKA the cold war)
    3. Artificial stimulation by government.

Economists understand the first two. We're learning about No. 3 and hoping that one is the best. Janet is doing OK so far in my opinion.

    Is this MB for GE

Don't give management so much credit - it's much lower now than 15 years ago.
However, for those that bought the stock before 1990 or around 2008-2010, we are now happy with the purchase.
In my opinion, it's a good buy now only for the dividend.

'your' is not too bad in this context, but the last part is definitely unacceptable. it should be 'how bout them apples'. The author may have meant 'about those apples' which of course would be grammatically correct.

Intellect only means something when conversing among intellects. For others to understand, common street talk customized for one's current surroundings, is probably preferable.

I got learned good from long long years of exposure to many different associates in and out of the educational system. Mid westerners would comprehend the meaning of what I write, but easterners might not. The most perfect use of the English language will be that used in the state of Indiana, so I was told many years ago by a Purdue English professor. Their blending of the words, sounds, and expression is best of anywhere in the world!
