Richard said that UNXL told intel they were not producing yet. I believe that to be true however, reality is they are likely producing roll to roll successfully IMO. Could it be that UNXL said this to Intel because they want to announce it not have Intel announce it at a conference for them.
When Richard's source was asked about this he said "I do not know when Uni-Pixel will start production, and I am very unwilling to guess, given the recent incident." . That to me means that he could very well believe that UNXL is ready to produce today or soon but he is not going to say this because they already started to announce it to the world and was told to shut the hell up. That is the recent incident he is talking about. He doesn't want to be quoted as saying they are ready to produce and get in trouble again. He was told in very clear terms that UNXL is the ones to announce production. That would be my guess based on the words written.
Richard takes it to mean they won't start any time soon and that doesn't sound accurate at all to me.
Am I mistaken in being able to interpret his comments in this way. It is 180 degrees from how Richard took the comment.
Change that date for an analyst day to Sept. I think they are planning to hold off on the analyst day. They will be running full production runs for quite some time prior to the analyst day.
There is a great deal of interest by institutions right now. Expect continued moves to the upside.
Sorry to hear that David. Lets hope UNXL recovers quickly so you and I can stop worrying about the investment and can start enjoying our lives again. This has been a difficult time.
I too am allergic to bees and could die if stung. Life is fragile. Enjoy the short life you have and the people you love.
We are now into mid march and still nothing happening. It's time for some good news soon. They fired Reed at the beginning of the year. At year end the company indicated they would be ready to deliver by the second half. The said they would be ramping production in the second qtr. We are just about to the second quarter. Kodak's CC has to come in the next few weeks. We need to get some good news on that call.
Or it could mean nothing.
If you were working on a process to produce droduct and had a call that could be delayed until the end of March. Would you hold the call on Feb 26th or wait.
I think it is possible the call is being held in late Feb because progess has been good and the company has positive developments to discuss.
No one has been talking about the clean room for InTouch production in Rochester. Could it be that the Lufkin facility is working because of the dirt. Could it be that to produce the product you need a clean room. Maybe this is the real reason for the delay. Lufkin might not work. Rochester will be ready in weeks to a couple months. Maybe the process works fine just got delayed due to the mistake of thinking they could do it in a normal factory.
If that is accurate everything would make sense and the company would not want to tell the world they screwed up putting the machines in Lufkin. I guess we will know soon.
My guess is when the company suceeds the shorts will claim the process is no longer additive. They will claim the company is using a subtractive process to finalize the process and the cost is similar to all other manufacturing processes. They will have about 3 months to get their butts out of the stock. Once the first earnings release is published The margins will become clear.
I believe as well JT. I know your information is from a good source. I don't think you have a lot of details but people need to remember that every day the company is making progress. It doesn't matter if we get a PR this week or we hear about it on the next CC a month from now. The news will come and investors will hopefully be happy when KODK and UNXL tell the world that the manufacturing process works. That will be a good day.
In case anyone wants to know. It won't take days between rund and it will be right the first time because the company has inspection equipment that ensures the plate is installed correctly.
I also think it is very possible that Kodak/UNXL prints the units over here and the plating is done in Asia. The printing is the proprietary part.
Yields will be much higher than your estimates. I am thinking in the 80-90% range within 6 months of production
As for jumping in and buying they will be planning to use InTouch but watching the production success in the 1st half of 2014. If UNXL/Kodak are delivering a quality product you can bet the second half will see huge sales increases over the 1st half.
And I think I will trust Kodak/UNXL on the printing.
Unfortunately JT your posts won't likely influence Reed at all. It sure hasn't done anything to help the situtaiton thus far. I would suggest a better course of action wold be to discuss this directly with Reed.
Do I agree with you? Yes. Reed needs to do a betterjob of settingreasonable expectations. However, bashing him here doesn't help the cause. It just feeds the shorts. I prefer to focus on the fact that everything is still on track to be a great ending to this story. Did I hope for a much higher stock price right now. Damn right I did. I thought they were going to be selling large quanities to Dell for the holiday season. UNXL failed to deliver anything for the holiday season. Reed even indicated that it was up to Dell if any items with InTouch would be on the shelves for xmas. That was a lie IMO. We got POs in early Nov and haven't delivered any product yet.
However, there is still time for this to turn into a success story. We need to execute and start increasing capacity soon. And once Rochester is ready to deliver we need to start selling the hell out of Intouch. I think it would be important to inform the public of material design wins.
But the truth is. The company is late and that is why the stock sits at less than $12 currently. However, a little execution and that should change.
JT, Killion isn't going to change. I want news now too. Not going to happen unitl they are done. I continue to hear the process is going well. Rochester up and running soon if not now. Printers are operational. plating is nearly ready. Hopefully they announce it is ready by year end.
Deliveries by year end should happen. They said in the 4th qtr. I do wish Reed would be a little more reasonable with his estimates. If they are going to deliver around year end tell us. He says 4th qtr and what he should say is will deliver around the end of 4th qtr.
I believe they make the deadline.
I will continue to get up every morning looking for news. Some day that news will come. UNXL really hasn't delivered good news since the beginning of the year. Last significant news was the Kodak partnership.
I think the company is laser focused. It just isn't a fast process and Reed needs to take his estimates and add a quarter. If he thinks it will happen late in the 4th qtr say 1st qtr so people are not waiting daily for information that doesn't come.
It will be happen. I believe that completely.
I see that as the shorts finally deciding that they have made enough and are attempting to exit. Lets hope they can exit and leave us alone forever. We need a few good announcements to force them to cover faster than they want to cover.
For those wondering about the Silver comment. If you look at the kodak planning documents you will find that kodak is planning in 2014 to change the Uniboss process to use Silver rather than copper. So any comments about developing a new process using silver halide is very possibly the UNXL process.
The SEC just wants to ensure they have preferred price partners. We know they have the partners and this PR is the final evidence you need. If the partners did not exist there is no way Reed puts out this email. This inquiry will be short and it will likely cause no pain. Investors will be buying tomorrow.
