Those bandits in Dallas done good.
Paid off the relatives and friends last year
Built the cushions for the remaining members of the gang
Emptied the cash register
and, in short, shafted the shareholders
Thanks Bill.. I see you are also a student of Prof Krich's. Some of these guys who believe what the touters say should read more of Prof. Krichender's writings and his contemporaries.
My recent analysis projects a post merger value of about $4.50 a share, after the "special divident" projected by management. Therefore, the final proceeds to current shareholders will be determined when the "special dividend" amount is known.
Fire the CEO. Give him a multlillion going away gift. Cut the dividend. Speculate with buying properties. Sure sounds like a boardroom war.
You can bet there is also a family war going on.
Sure glad I shorted this stuff when they announced a "strategic alternatives" study.
How now that fat dividend?
Remember that a REIT MUST make minimum dividend payments. If the dividend is dropped down it's bcause earnings have fallen. However it's difficult to say with this family running the show. The've been less than candid on several issues over the last few years.
The only logical explanation for them attempting to sell out is that there may be a family feud, like the one a few years ago where they kicked out a family member and called his departure his desire to "pursue other interests" (with the farewell bonus in hand).
Whatever price they might agree to depends on how bad the feud is but, rest assured they will fare much better than the outside shareholders.
I bought 5000 shares at $43 a share. Now that it's down to $30 a share, I'll just wait because I don't want to buy at less than about $45 a share. This company was valued at 100 billion but it's really worth 300 billion. How do I know? Because that's what the underwriters and Zuck told me.
Gotta go now because my 15 cent off coupon for a gallon of milk expires in a few hours.
c'mon guys. you know, or should know, that any deal will benefit this family run outfit handsomely. Any deal which results in a loss of all the perks and benefits will be more than made up for with a "consulting" contract, severance payment or other disguised payment.
Be that as it may, you can be sure that the family and friends will pofit handsomely at the expense of the shareholders. They simply are not going to give up their gravy train because they are "concerned" about the shareholders.
yeah right. accumulating. time to realize this is a company being run for the sole benefit of the ruling family... shareholders are a distant 3rd, or 4th or 5th.
just look at the cozy deals they make for themselves.
It's because the savvy see what's really going on here and it's not for the benefit of shareholders....only management benefits from the very existence of this entity.
Now they're engaging in some "financial magic".
