Norney, this is now serious. Money must be being lined up. Downside risk is we get taken out @ small money.
It is going to take some time for Shaulson to get this rig running. You well know without funds this is dead.
This must have been in the works for sometime and I feel with confidence Schuler has had a say. Enough of Eno.
Disappointment is that he stays and gets, why not take Hill at the same time......same reasons.

    Hi Norney
Glad you see the pvc value. In the past you were strong on the chemical are still right...That time is still ahead. Right now they need a foot print / of any shape or form. They need to do something positive in the market....right now.....then credibility. Thus, price increase.

Two supply chain's regardless where they come from right now will keep this company solvent. Look @ release stating a 10k & a 30 facility........I don't know, where?. I am interested in cash replenishment......they need 75K min, while they procure raw, produce and roll out......production /AR and operations expenses..........I would like to hear joint deal.
    Talk tomorrow.

What is important here is that schedule 40 pvc is @ one price point in the market place and schedule 80 is at a premium in the market place.......if the same compounding is produces the same tensile strenght it will produce a higher margin for the mfg as well as mblx.

    Performance Additives
Metabolix is developing biopolymers as performance additives. Metabolix biopolymer resins are miscible with a broad range of biobased and petroleum-based materials and can improve a range of performance attributes such as impact strength, heat resistance, barrier properties, processability and plasticization.

Polymeric modifiers for PVC. In PVC, a compounded product is typically formulated with about 20-40% performance additives used to improve the processability and performance of PVC products. Metabolix is developing biobased, polymeric modifiers for semi-rigid and flexible PVC compounds. We have shown that our polymeric modifiers can provide a step change in impact modification, plasticization and process modification when added to PVC. We have shown that our bioplastic polymeric modifiers have the potential to improve PVC impact resistance beyond that achievable with leading polymeric modifiers and at the same time serve as a non-migrating, non-phthalate plasticizer.

Polymeric modifiers for polylactic acid (PLA). PLA is a biobased, compostable aliphatic polyester used in a broad range of compostable applications including: food packaging, food serviceware, and textiles, and features a high tensile modulus but low toughness. Modifiers used today to improve PLA toughness often affect its compostability and lower the biobased carbon content. Metabolix has shown success in using compostable PHA polymeric modifiers to increase the toughness of PLA without reducing the biobased content or affecting compostability of the product. The PHA modified PLA shows an excellent balance of properties with the toughness that can be achieved by the leading non-compostable modifiers.

Why 4 million shares still short?

    by casinomarket Oct 11, 2013 8:50 AM
    ledup111 ledup111 Oct 15, 2013 8:46 AM Flag

Answer: Because the shorts overstayed their hand and SIMPLY CANNOT COVER and disappear. Based on current volume and current short position, they’d have to buy every single share traded, every single day, for FIVE MONTHS in order to get to zero. Unless there’s an offsetting seller of 4 million shares willing to sell at these prices, then price can only rise as the demand would exceed supply at these levels. This is like asking the shorts to hit themselves over the head with a hammer. Instead, they continue to manipulate the price (they’ve ADDED to their short over the last thirty days to try and hold price down) but are now starting to lose that battle. There is obviously a large buyer sitting underneath the market right now accumulating on a daily basis. This makes for a very combustible situation on good news and the shorts are playing with fire. However, it’s the only game they actually can play. When they get lit up, it won’t be for a little, it’ll be for a lot. Look at Tesla (TSLA). Those shorts had built a 30 million share short position around $30/share as of March of this year thinking the whole thing would collapse into bankruptcy. Now it’s trading at $171 and the shorts have only covered 10 mill of that short! That’s a $140 point loss for those that are still short 20 million shares. Do the math, that’s a $280 million loss for the shorts and they still haven’t capitulated! So you’d have to ask yourself why there are still 20 million shares short on TSLA after a $280 million loss. Hopefully we’re are just about at the point where a BIG HURT is going to be put on the #$%$ who have been manipulating our little breakthrough technology company. If the Red Sox can go from Worst to First in a year, so can MBLX! The K Trade Show in Germany starts this Wednesday. News should start to flow soon.

    Hi again
Simiply, MBLX are marketing the demand side of their offerings. Agreed, they need a plant they can hang their hat on to support their claim of constant supply.
Followng the ribbion cutting buy Gadea, who slammed the union's to understand they are not making pills anymore..New Biio tech science is the future.....unions need to adjust and accept.......or the plant get's built in Castell. Gadea has the cash and declaed he will build a plant elsewhere if Leon fails. Above all...He just cut the ribbon at a new pant in Leon. Wow........25% unemployed! Judge needs to finalize.........period.

The lawsuits are a joke. MBLX would have to capitilize & set aside capitl and declared.
Joe Hill better anounce they are not a material impact with this decision.

I respect your opinion of a takeover option. That would be a short gain in my opinion if it were ever to happen....$10. You have always dispayed extreme patience and indorcement.over the years which I have respected. I would hope you relax abit.
Agreed, it has been a long 5+ years for me with this position, however, I feel we are close to material statments being made. I will continue to ride the buffalo hard. I believe the science will pervail and reward.
    With respect.

Metabolix Launches I6003rp, A New Biobased Performance Additive To Improve The Processing And Performance Of Recycled PVC

Data Showing that Metabolix Biobased PHA Polymers Enhance the Processing and Properties of Recycled PVC will be Presented in October

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Metabolix, Inc. (NASDAQ: MBLX), an innovation-driven performance biomaterials company delivering sustainable solutions to the plastics, chemicals and energy industries, today announced the launch of I6003rp, a new biobased polymeric performance additive for recycled PVC (polyvinyl chloride). I6003rp demonstrates the value of excellent miscibility in PVC when used in combination with recycle PVC. This certified biobased process aid lowers processing torque and improves properties.

With increasing PVC waste coming from short-life products such as packaging, bottles and medical devices, as well as from long-life products such as pipes, window frames and cable insulation that have been in service for significant time and are increasingly being replaced, more PVC is entering the waste stream. "While PVC is one of the largest recycled polymers by volume, the amount of discarded post-industrial scrap and post-consumer waste that is actually recycled is still very low compared to the amount that is landfilled every year. Due to deterioration in physical properties when reprocessed, scrap PVC is downgraded and devalued," said Bob Engle, vice president, biopolymers, at Metabolix.

"I6003rp is a performance-driven additive that improves toughness and makes processing easier, enabling PVC converters to increase the rate of recycle use without compromising hardness. PVC Repro suppliers can upgrade the quality and value of Repro products," added Bob Engle.

Metabolix developed I6003rp based on data confirming that specific Metabolix grades of PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoate) have superb miscibility with PVC and enhance the processing and properties of recycled PVC. Dr. Yelena Kann, product development scientist at Metabolix, will be presenting this data at SPE Vinyltec 2013 being held October 21-23, 2013.

In 2012, Metabolix launched I6001, a biobased polymeric modifier for flexible and semi-rigid PVC that brings toughness, elongation and plastification without migration or compromising clarity. I6003rp represents an extension of the product line. With this process aid, Metabolix continues to drive advancements in the use of performance biopolymers for PVC manufacturing by harnessing the power of its innovative PHA-technology platform.

At K 2013, taking place from October 16 — 23, 2013 in Dusseldorf, Germany, Metabolix will be showcasing I6003rp and I6001 PVC modifiers, Mvera B5010, a new compostable film grade resin, and a number of additional biobased master batch and bio-composite resin products. For more information on I6003rp, including a product bulletin, please visit the product page.

    Why arent insiders buying?

    by rumorwhisperorbuzz Sep 12, 2013 1:35 AM

Answer: A) Those options VEST quarterly over a number of years and are obviously currently worthless. They are not immediately monetize-able on any level. They do protect employees in case of a takeover attempt and do incentivize upside and employee retention. B) There are times when insiders are prevented from buying exactly because of ‘insider information’. Those restrictions come in starting at the 15th of the last month of a quarter until 2 days after a company reports OR if there is a deal pending that prohibits that insider knowledge from being acted upon.
