    Time to buy

Well, I got out at $8 a share and re-entered at $6.75. If you look at the swings in prices of WLL this has to be a favorite trading stock. It's not a buy and hold unless you really want a boring future. It will go up and down daily. GLTA

You know. Your're absolutely correct. I just pulled up a 5 year chart of DVN. It used to be in the $80's. I somehow always thought they were a first rate energy company but the price chart proves to the contrary. Thanks.

Thoughtful reply. I wasn't sure we were in an up cycle. A lot of very smart oil and gas people are hedging the current priice of WTI. Also, if DVN is selling, and I believe they are very experienced oil and gas people, why is PXD buying? GLTA

  • legalbark by legalbark Jun 15, 2016 5:17 PM Flag

You know, it's kind of funny. DVN sells PXD "non-core assets". PXD' press release said they just acquired "core assets". I guess every company gets to send out its own press releases and the seller is always selling "non-core assets" and the acquiring company is always acquiring "core assets". This is all gobellygook in my opinion. These are all very smart oil and gas people. I think there is something to just doing transactions that make it appear they're really doing something other than shifting the deck chars on the Titanic. GLTA

If you really believe your post, why are you posting on the WLL Meassage Board? Given your prediction, you can't possibly own any WLL. So why waste your time helping all the people who think WLL has a bright future? It makes no sense. My advice is to go to a message board where you are enthusiastic and post there. GLTA

    The Janet Yellen Connection

It's already over $11 in afterhours. While interest rates and Janet Yellen's prognostications about where interest rates may be going, I doubt that is why OAS is rising. Look at the upgrades by Jeffries and Goldman and I think you'll get a better picture of what's happening. GLTA

Jim Cramer's "The Street" is the most useless publication out there. They must have a computer program that tracks the ups and downs of stocks. I don't care which stock it is, every day you see a story from "The Street" telling you that because oil prices went up or down on any given day, the given oil stock rose or fell becasue of rising or falling oil prices. This is every day on every oil stock. They must get money based on "hits" on their stories. I don't read them but it's the worse spam imaginable. GLTA

How do you know what the short interest is? All the data you see is horribly dated and there are multiple ways using derivatives, etc., to short a stock. You can also be short the stock and buy calls. Using the published numbers you refer to is useless. GLTA

Wait for the annual meeting. They will approve a massive buy back of shares. They have the cash and fire power. From one of the pumpkin heads. GLTA

May 3rd is the Annual Meeting. On the agenda is a resolution to permit the company to make a big buy back of common shares in the open market. I believe the anticipation of this event, as well as the adoption of this resolution on May 3rd, will give some considerable uplift to pps. GLTA

    Liquidate the company

I hope you're right. I just topped up to 5000 shares. GLTA

Why doesn't CMRX just liqudate or sell out to another drug company? They have over $7 a share in cash and their products, patents, work in process, etc. has to be worth a couple of bucks, at the least. Why should the shareholders allow current management to just keep eating into the nest egg of cash with no visible plan to make this worthwhile for shareholders? I think the Board has a duty to look seriously at the liquidation or sale senario. GLTA

Market Edge is a technical service provided free on my Schwab account. On a technical basis solely, they upgraded CRMX to a Buy. Their commentary of all the technical data states that if CRMX closes above $6.24, that will confirm the uptrend their other technical indicators suggest. While you can't always rely solely on technical analysis, I went ahead and bought a bunch of May 20th calls with a $5 strike price at $1.40. Let's see what happens. GLTA

I own some shares of CMRX but haven't followed the company since the big drop in price and the news about Steve Cohen being a big owner. I looked at the table of major holders and didn't see Steve Cohen or his Point 72 fund listed. Is he still involved or was the past publicity just smoke and mirrors? Thanks.

The banks already did their cut. To a credit line of $2.75 billion. Plenty of liquidity to do whatever they please and they don't have to worry about the banks and a cut in their credit line for at least 6 months. I have no idea what you're talking about. GLTA

You're really looking at trades that took place during the regular trading hours but only show up as prints after hours. No one is buying that quantity of stock in the after hour market.Still, WLL looks good and its technical pattern suggests even higher prices. GLTA

    New convertible bonds

    by bobbycrawford14 Mar 25, 2016 4:32 PM

I really haven't studied the terms in depth but on the surface it seems like a good way to convert some investors from bond holders to equity investors. The fact that they accepted the exchange terms is a positive one. If a note holder thought the company were headed for BK, why would you exchange your existing bonds for convertibles that can be forced to convert to equity under certain circumstances. Still think it is a positive in the long term story. GLTA
