Ive never met anyone in FIOS that wasnt in the union, and since they are training everyone in copper how to do fios and the majority of fios techs came from copper i dont think that would be possible. But then again the original poster probably knows a lot more about this kind of stuff than me
nope...but to reiterate what was stated, they do not do it without the customers consent. They try to switch customers in trouble areas. This was done to me this week with one of my customers. I was working a repeat when the customer asked me if I was the one installing the fios line

I pay about the same for the same package except I have 3HD set top boxes the multi room DVR, and a standard def box, with the WWE PPVs my kids watch every month it comes in under 200. Maybe the original poster has 15-20 HD set top boxes and didnt realize they had to pay for them?

I heard a rumor there is about to be a contract with the union not giving up anything, and actually improving conditions, just like the United Auto Workers and GM...seems like unions are getting stronger, but its just a rumor I heard just like yours is a rumor
