The Microsoft store (online) had them too, but it has since changed to saying that they will have more on March 1st.
And the two stores that had them have sold out of them again. I don't know how many they had, but they are goooooooone.
Confirmed. Best buy on-line shows that the two stores nearest me has them today. I have been checking everyday since they sold out. Going to get mine this afternoon.
Opens today at $27.78 and everything is showing it as up .09/ share. It should be say that MSFT is down .11/ share right now. (at 27.89).
Trefis has it at $43 and Value Line has a 3 - 5 year target of $50 - $60 per share. If MSFT were a stock, I would call it a buy...oh wait, it is a stock.
Why would we want that. Watch Bing's numbers go up the next three quarters. I never used Bing before Windows 8 upgrade. Now I use Bing exclusively. MSFT doesn't need Yahoo anymore. Three years ago it would have made sense. With Windows 8, they have search integrated properly.
Ditto: link?. From what I can tell Warren Buffet, while a close friend of Will's, isn't involved here.
Let FB fall and become a bargain. I agree, it is horribly manipulated, but if you want to watch massive manipulation in action, watch GMCR when earnings are released. There will be so many forces at work it will be ugly (shorts versus longs versus market makers).
Like I said, February 9th, I will let you what my impression is. I have an Ipod Touch and I had a Kindle Fire. Neither is or was computing Nirvana. I am hoping the Surface Pro does what I want it to do.
I am running Windows 8 and for me. it is what I have been waiting for since I had a Commodore 64. I don't know that software CAN be cool, but Windows 8 ROCKS. If you have used it and have problems with it, it is an IQ thing not the software package.
It might take a few more quarters, but I think MSFT is going to be the story of the year. Punctuated by the fact that there are so many with so much against them. Buy now or don't buy at all. Mark these words: MSFT will have the largest market cap of any company in history within the next two years.
I'll let you know about the Surface Pro on February 9th. Everyone's complaining about the price, but I paid $3,500 for my first laptop and it was garbage. My current laptop cost $1,800 when I got it. I can't imagine that I will be disappointed regardless at $1,200 for the Surface Pro.
I think it is more pegged around earnings releases (just before or after), so they get absorbed in the wash easier on those days with the higher volume. It usually trades around twice as many shares per day just before and after earnings releases. He drops 5 million shares a day until he is done.
I just wish MSFT corporate would buy the shares directly from him at his clip and retire them. That'd give a nice per share boost to earnings and he'd get his cash for his other endeavors.
He still has another 440 million shares to go (ballpark). I wish MSFT would buy his shares back directly and retire them. Pbft.
Yeah, I guess. This has a forward PE of 8.5 that's pretty sad. Not sure why they don't take the 68 billion and buy back their own stock. It would remove a third of the stock they pay dividends to and increase earnings nearly 35% instantly. By the end of 2013 with 6 billion in cash a quarter coming in they could continue to get that up to 50% of shares in short order.
