You should\ seek a position with "Motley Crew" or "The Street", msch; they keep hammering away at UPS just like you. Good ole Wallstreet, they do have their favorites and, obviously, UPS is definitely not one of them .
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Will it ever stop??? The author sings praises of Motley Fool and Wall Street's analysis of UPS and FDX. It was so obvious they were downplaying the positive numbers and playing up the small dips on UPS. Now, here's the joke: two or three times they indicated that FDX should copy and take advantage of improvements that UPS has made. What a farce!!! How do these analysts get away with this attack on UPS. OK, so they don't like it, but they shouldn't be allowed to continue their unwarranted negativity. Oh, yes, and Mr. msch8864, time's up, we're tired of your useless comments.
So encouraging to read a detailed, HONEST and unbiased article by Scottrade. All the other analysts' articles constantly punish UPS by extracting what they can manipulate to appear as negatives. If you listen to the quarterly conference calls, every time UPS makes a positive comment, they will come up with a "yes, but" and try to turn it into a negative. Now,when it comes to UPS' main competitor, they ignore all the negatives and sing praises for the strategies of the top management.. A sincere thank you for an objective, positive and honest report on UPS.
Happens every quarter. These gurus always find a way to criticize and downplay UPS. They've always disliked UPS and will never give them a positive analysis on their quarterly Webcast. It's so obvious and that's why I think they ought to find another job.that doesn't require unbiased reporting.
Didn't we just read a couple of months ago that UPS was making a change in its' pension program for employees retired prior to 2008? The benefits were going to be adjusted. Can't quote on the actual change, but perhaps it should be researched by those who are so convinced UPS is in bad financial condition.
WHATt!!! FDX has put themselves in a real questional position at this point in time. It would make more sense for Amazon to negotiate with UPS which is in much better financial condition than FDX, especially with cash reserve. UPS is an extremely conservative company which sometimes we investors get a little frustrated with; very little PR or bragging rights unlike FDX.
Unfortunately, Amazon expects too much take and no give when it comes to expectations of delivery companies, so perhaps they're not will to compromise. Interesting thought, though.
Dream on! FDX has bitten off more than it can chew in my estimation. It's amazing how numbers can be skewed to look good. UPS tells it the way it is but the media crucifies them with negativity. It's all about PR and hype where FDX is concerned.
NOT!!! and never has been where UPS is concerned. Time to go private???? They'll never get anywhere on Wall Street, that's for sure!
Man, are you WRONG!!! UPS drivers are the best in the business. They're professional, always come back to the barn with empty trucks (unless they're doing pickups), liked by their customers and earn every dime of their paychecks. I know this is FACT, not fiction, as I have a family member who has been with the company as a driver for over 23 years and still at it. 60 hours a week during peak week and no jumper assistance.
What nationality the drivers are in Prague and Czech Republic I haven't a clue... You're comparing apples and oranges so don't attack the whole company with negative comments, please,
After UPS's sterling performance during peak week, I'm confused as to why the stock is going down every day. I realize most of the market is down-trending due to outside factors, but when a company like UPS continues to excel in customer demands at 98%, why are they being punished? The crybabies continue their slander, but overall, the problems they had were brought on by themselves.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
BIG DEAL!!! With all the pre-Christmas bragging by the media, FDX was out-delivering UPS and doing such a great job; however, UPS on the other hand, made ALL deliveries by Christmas Eve but didn't get any recognition. This media is so biased and FDX can do no wrong in their eyes. Freddy Baby sure has hoodwinked the media and sold them a false bill of goods. Today, even with all their screw-ups, they come up smelling like a rose....Oh, yes, it was due to the rain in New England, OH, we just didn't expect so much last minute shipping....What a crock of what makes the grass grow green!!!! Just be honest and admit you couldn't get the job done......
Hang in there!! The proof is in the pudding, not the media. Wait until UPS's numbers come out. Of course, the media will find something negative to say, but the media is losing all credibility in most of its' reporting these days. It's all about spinning the data to their liking. Bunch of "wanna be's" looking for hype!!!
UPS Will never get Kudos from the press, EVER!!! Did you also notice since Christmas that they haven't really reported the negative news for FDX even though they fell short of meeting the delivery demand. UPS came out at 98% of completed package delivery.
You have to remember, Fred Smith is the golden boy of Wall Street and was getting wonderful press prior to Christmas and kept stressing how far behind UPS was with deliveries. Nothing changes when it comes to the media. Just wait until the numbers come out from UPS and then I believe you'll get the real answer you're looking for but never from the media. They hate UPS.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
The Union issue is definitely a large factor in why Wall Street hates UPS. Also, If I remember correctly, it was not happy with the fact that UPS refused to commit all its' shares to the open market. Maybe you can check this out.
Let's wait to get the real stats from UPS after the crunch is over. Quite honestly, I don't believe a wore the media spreads. It's always the same negative hype. Good ole' Wall Street and those who've never liked UPS since it went public and didn't put all their shares out there, will never change. Would love to see it go private again and get out of the claws of the marketplace.
Is there any question??? UPS WAS DEFINITELY ON THE ROAD BOTH SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. THOSE WORKERS ARE WORKING 12 HOUR DAYS, 7 DAYS A WEEK TO GET THE JOB DONE. But don't worry, the Media will still lie out of both sides of their stupid mouth to discredit UPS. I hate Yahoo for playing into their deceit by posting such dribble!! I'm changing my server ASAP. I've had enough!!! .
It's all about logistics!! I don't believe Amazon has had any experience in that direction. What What they've had is the requirement to follow trends, order merchandise, manage inventory.
then call the delivery guys. They have a long way to go before they can handle all other
requirements as a delivery company.
Where do you get your info from??? Must be all those analysts who constantly spew false facts where UPS is concerned. Try reading the intelligent articles written by unbiased journalists. OT is a given for drivers at UPS and the new Orion system is being used to select routes to cut down mileage. Drivers are not being cut but shortage of temporary helpers is a problem. Many drivers are working 60 hour weeks without helpers, so don't think they're not getting paid for OT. They're even working Sundays.and definitely busting their butts.
NO, and you can see from the latest article that UPS is in a downward trend and perhaps a significant one to $85.00/share. How could Management let this happen. I believe many investors have seriously questioned the capability of the current Board and officers. What a shame!!!
