I am very long this stock and plan to remain so, I am underwater on the sp but I believe the drug works and should be approved. I can't understand why my 1 st post on this topic received 5 thumbs down,I am simply asking a valid question. The company stated the fda is asking for something that in the press release states the company has already obtained, I don't understand why it will take a period of a couple of weeks to turn over to the fda.
They say the fda is requesting data from 13 patients that the company has already obtained, why does it take a period of weeks to turn the data over, why isn't it done overnight, the company supposebly already has this data, seems like they are not organized.
Most shorts have been covered, srpt no longer htb, my brokerage firm put my shares back into my account as they no longer were needed to be lent out.Don't think you'll see much of a short squeeze, but the shares will go much higher still even without the shorts.
I am signed up with my broker to loan out only 2 holdings in my portfolio, srpt at 5% and psec @ 4%.All of the trading in srpt is nothing but noise, the only day that matters is when the fda decision is released.
I was notified by my broker asking permission to loan out my shares for people wanting to short, I said go for it and my broker is paying me 5% interest on the amount, I figure if I gonna hold my shares to fruition, might as well collect a little premium, it doesn't stop me from selling calls or stock against my position.
I believe that the company and the fda can share the blame for the poor showing at the adcom meeting yesterday. What is so disturbing is the benefit etep brings to the boys that were brought up like pulmonary function, increased upper body strength, more energy, etc.The fda talks about the 2 mistakes they can make, first approving a drug that doesn't work and harms patients and 2nd, not approving a drug that helps patients. I don't see any downside in giving the company conditional approval with the safety record of etep and adding some measurement of upper body strength, energy, pulmonary function to the current trials. All of the data submitted by the company could be argued either way but the improvement in the kids is real and something that couldn't be accounted for except for receiving etep.
